DRIVETRAIN LAYOUT WITH CVT
A drivetrain layout that includes a primary gear reduction, a continuously variable transmission (CVT), a peak torque limiting (PTL) device and a range box is provided. The primary gear reduction is operationally engaged to an output of a motor. The CVT includes a primary pulley and a secondary pulley. The primary pulley of the CVT is operationally engaged to the primary gear reduction. The primary gear reduction reduces a rotational speed of the output of the motor that is coupled to the primary pulley of the CVT. The range box is operationally engaged with the secondary pulley of the CVT. The range box is configured to coupled torque between the CVT and wheels of a vehicle. The PTL device in operational engagement between the secondary pulley of the CVT and the range box, the PTL device configured to protect the drivetrain layout from torque transients.
Driveline Power Transmitting Component With A Plate Clutch-Type Limited Slip Differential Assembly Having Preload Disconnect Capabilities
A driveline power transmitting device that includes a limited slip differential having a differential case, a cross-pin, a pair of pressure rings, a pair of clutch packs, a pair of preload springs, and a pair of preload control mechanisms. The pressure rings are non-rotatably coupled to the differential case and are disposed on opposite sides of the cross-pin. The preload springs bias the pressure rings toward the clutch packs and thereby preload the clutch packs. The pressure rings are urged axially away from the cross-pin to further compress the clutch packs in response to rotation of the cross-pin relative to the differential case. The preload control mechanisms are employed to decrease the preload force on the clutch packs in certain situations.
Power transmitting apparatus
A power transmitting apparatus has a clutch member and a pressure member. The cam surfaces of the pressure-contact assist cam face each other. The cam surfaces of the back torque limiter cam face each other. A receiving portion for a clutch spring (10) on the pressure member (5) side has a receiving member (11) separate from the pressure member (5). A first cam surface (C1) and a second cam surface (C2), constituting the back torque limiter cam, are, respectively, formed on the receiving member (11) and the clutch member (4). A third cam surface (C3) and a fourth cam surface (C4), constituting the pressure-contact assist cam, are, respectively, formed on the pressure member (5) and the clutch member (4).
CLUTCH ASSEMBLY FOR DETECTING AND MEASURING SLIP USING PROXIMITY SENSORS
A clutch assembly includes a first gear, a second gear, a first proximity sensor configured to determine a first number of teeth of the first gear that pass by the first proximity sensor within a period of time, and a second proximity sensor configured to determine a second number of teeth of the second gear that pass by the second proximity sensor within the period of time.
SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OPENING A SPA HARD COVER
A cover lift system for a spa includes a lifter handle having an upper arm and a lower arm telescopically connected to the upper arm, the upper arm being configured for operative connection to a cover of a spa, and the lower arm being configured for pivotal connection to a base of the spa, and an adjuster mechanism associated with the lifter handle for selectively adjusting a length of the lifter handle to allow for use of the lifter handle with spas of varying sizes.
Slip coupling for a work machine
A slip coupling for a work machine includes a main clutch in the form of a friction-based and spring-operated slip clutch. The slip coupling further includes an auxiliary clutch configured to maintain a pre-set spring-induced clamping force on friction plates of the slip clutch, when the slip coupling rotates in a forward direction, and further configured to be able to increase the spring-induced clamping force, when the slip coupling rotates in a reverse rotational direction. The increase of the clamping force is enabled by the fact that one of two auxiliary clutch parts is axially movable when the slip coupling rotates in the reverse rotational direction, the axial movement actuating an increase in pre-tension of mechanical spring or springs of the slip clutch. A work machine such as a combine harvester equipped with the slip coupling is also described.
Work vehicle drive assembly with electric motor overspeed protection
A drive assembly for a work vehicle includes an electric motor configured to rotate a driving shaft and a gear train configured to transmit torque between the driving shaft and a driven shaft. The drive assembly also includes a clutch member having an engaged position and a disengaged position. The clutch member is configured to allow torque transfer between the driving shaft and the driven shaft when in the engaged position. The clutch member is configured to prevent torque transfer between the driving shaft and the driven shaft when in the disengaged position. The clutch member is biased toward the disengaged position to prevent torque transfer in a direction from the driven shaft toward the driving shaft in an overspeed condition of the drive assembly.
Powertrain interface module
Vehicles that are relatively heavy and/or configured to transport heavy loads may utilize a powertrain comprising an electric machine capable of operating at high speeds and a multispeed transmission to propel the vehicle. An interface module is configured to modulate torque between the electric machine and the multispeed transmission allowing the electric machine to smoothly match speed as the multispeed transmission shifts between gears. The interface module facilitates efficient, predictable, and reliable modulation of torque between an input and an output of the powertrain of the vehicle.
