The engagement side includes an outer circumferential edge, an inner circumferential edge, a flat face extending radially inward from the outer edge, a step axially recessed into the engagement side relative to the face, and a tapered face extending from the step to the inner circumferential edge. The tapered face is disposed against an end one of the first friction disks, and the flat face is radially outboard of the first friction disks.

Clutch arrangement

A clutch arrangement has a clutch housing and a clutch element carrier, one of which receives at least one clutch element and the other of which is configured as a friction area carrier for a friction area so that, to produce a frictional engagement connection, the clutch element can be brought into operative connection with the friction area or, to cancel the frictional engagement connection, the clutch element can be separated from the friction area. The clutch element has a support for a friction facing, and the clutch element has a holding device radially adjacent to the friction facing for receiving the support of the clutch element. The support has at its side opposite the friction facing a further friction facing acting as seal.

A positive positioning device comprises a plurality of stacked plates, a body, a spring-biased piston and a piston release device. The plurality of stacked plates have a central opening defined to receive a pivot shaft. The body houses the plurality of stacked plates and has an internal bore within which a cylinder is defined. The spring-biased piston is shaped to slide within the bore to apply a force to the stacked plates to resist rotation of a pivot shaft inserted through the central opening in the stacked plates. The piston release device is actuatable by a user to release the piston to decrease force applied to the stacked plates and allow free rotation of the pivot shaft.
