An electric parking brake device for a vehicle, including: a drum brake arranged on a radially inner side of a rim portion; and an electric actuator which enables obtaining a parking brake state by driving the drum brake, the electric actuator being mounted to a side surface of a back plate on an inner side in a vehicle-width direction. An ice and snow accumulation suppressing member (54) including a wall portion (54a), which extends from the back plate to the inner side in the vehicle-width direction while facing an inner peripheral surface of the rim portion (40b) and which is arranged at least below an anchor portion (21), is mounted to an outer peripheral edge portion of the back plate (13). With this configuration, collision of ice and snow refrozen in a wheel with the electric actuator can be prevented.

DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM WITH TWO TENSION SPRINGS
The present invention relates drum brake system, comprising a back plate assembly and a brake drum (1) that is rotatable with respect to the back plate assembly, the back plate assembly comprising: a back plate (2); two brake shoes (3, 3′), the two brake shoes (3, 3′) being pivotably connected to the back plate (2), pivot axes (4, 4′) of the brake shoes (3, 3′) being disposed at or near first ends of the brake shoes (3, 3′); an actuator housing (5) with two pistons (6, 6′), the two pistons (6, 6′) being configured to move outwardly, to press each piston (6, 6′) against one of the brake shoes (3, 3′) to pivot the respective brake shoe (3, 3′) outwardly about its pivot axis (4, 4′), and to press the respective brake shoe (3, 3′) against the brake drum (1) for braking; a return spring (7) extending between the brake shoes (3, 3′) and being connected to both brake shoes (3, 3′), the return spring (7) being configured (7) to exert a retracting spring force that pulls both brake shoes (3, 3′) away from the brake drum; two tension springs (8, 8′) and a holder arrangement (9), inner ends of each of the two tension springs (8, 8′) being connected to the holder arrangement (9), an outer end of the first tension spring (8) of the two tension springs (8, 8′) being connected to a first brake shoe (3) of the two brake shoes (3, 3′) and an outer end of the second tension spring (8′) of the two tension springs (8, 8′) being connected to a second brake shoe (3′) of the two brake shoes (3, 3′).

A drum brake apparatus includes: a housing; a main braking unit disposed on a first portion of the housing, and the main braking unit configured to be, during main braking, driven by a hydraulic pressure and pressing a shoe; a parking braking unit disposed on a second portion of the housing, the parking braking unit configured to be, during parking braking, driven by an electromotive force of an actuator and pressing the shoe; a first locking member configured to couple the housing to one surface of a back plate; and a second locking member configured to couple the actuator to the housing on another surface side of the back plate.
ELECTROMECHANICALLY ACTUABLE EXPANDING DEVICE FOR A DRUM BRAKE PROVIDED WITH A READJUSTMENT DEVICE
An expanding device for actuating one of the brake shoes of a drum brake includes a body of revolution and transmission bodies actuated by the body of revolution via ball track ramps. A spacer body is located between two partial bodies of the body of revolution, the spacer body guided by an adjustment spring keeping the partial bodies at the respectively reached distance. The spacer body is screwed onto a pin on the first partial body. A readjustment nut ensures that, when the two partial bodies are pushed apart, the spacer body rotates on the pin and moves away from a supporting surface on a partition of the second partial body. Upon renewed actuation of the brakes, the readjustment nut is guided such that the spacer body bears against the second partial body), but takes up a different position on the pin, the position corresponding to the air clearance readjustment.
ELECTROMECHANICALLY ACTUABLE EXPANDING DEVICE FOR A DRUM BRAKE PROVIDED WITH A READJUSTMENT DEVICE

Electric Actuator for S-Cam Brake
A drum brake assembly includes a brake spider having a central aperture configured to receive an axle extending therethrough and first and second brake shoes. Each of the first and second brakes shoes has a first end pivotally coupled to the brake spider. First and second cam followers are disposed at corresponding second ends of the first and second brake shoes. A camshaft has a shaft extending through a camshaft aperture in the brake spider and disposed along a rotational axis and a cam disposed at a first end of the shaft and in engagement with the first and second cam followers. An electric motor has an output shaft coupled to the camshaft. A controller is configured to drive the electric motor to cause rotation of the camshaft and move the first and second brake shoes between positions of engagement and disengagement with an associated braking surface.
ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE DEVICE
Provided is an electric parking brake device in which a drum brake includes braking gap automatic adjustment means and a parking brake lever, and the operation of an electric actuator that drives the parking brake lever is controlled by a control unit. When an application operation time of the electric actuator (38) by the time when a parking brake state is obtained has exceeded a predetermined application operation end determination time (T2), the control unit (C) determines that the braking gap automatic adjustment means (18) is abnormal. With this configuration, at the time of obtaining the parking brake state, the presence or absence of abnormality in the braking gap automatic adjustment means can be determined.
ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE DEVICE
Provided is an electric parking brake device in which a drum brake includes braking gap automatic adjustment means and a parking brake lever, and the operation of an electric actuator that drives the parking brake lever is controlled by a control unit. When an application operation time of the electric actuator (38) by the time when a parking brake state is obtained has exceeded a predetermined application operation end determination time (T2), the control unit (C) determines that the braking gap automatic adjustment means (18) is abnormal. With this configuration, at the time of obtaining the parking brake state, the presence or absence of abnormality in the braking gap automatic adjustment means can be determined.

A brake device including a brake unit; a contact device engageable by the brake unit and movable relative to the brake unit, wherein the brake unit includes at least one activation device and at least one brake member that includes a transmission member and a brake shoe that is pivotably supported in a pivot bearing at an end of the at least one brake member, wherein the at least one activation device engages the transmission member to move the at least one brake member towards the contact device until the brake shoe contacts the contact device in an activation position of the at least one brake member and the brake shoe, wherein the pivot bearing is arranged at the at least one brake member so that the pivot bearing is movable towards the contact device together with the transmission member.
