Drum Brake Spider Optimized for Vibration and Application
A one piece drum brake spider construction eliminates welds and distortion, at least relative to a typically fabricated spider, and should improve brake performance. The spider includes a main body plate having opposed flat sides, an outer perimeter, and an inner perimeter configured to receive an axle tube. Vibration control structure is preferably formed on at least one of the opposed flat sides of the main body plate, and the brake drum spider additionally includes weight minimizing features. At least the main body plate may be produced by any of a casting technique, a stamping technique, a machining technique, and an additive manufacturing technique. The invention also concerns a process of producing such a brake drum spider.
ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM
Disclosed is an electronic parking brake system, which is configured to push first and second brake shoes respectively disposed on inner opposite sides of a drum to an inner surface of the drum for braking, including an actuator including a motor configured to rotate forward and reverse to generate a driving force for braking, and a reduction gear unit configured to amplify the driving force transmitted from the motor, and a power converter configured to convert a rotational motion from the actuator into a linear motion to press or release the first and second brake shoes.
DRUM BRAKE APPARATUS
A drum brake apparatus includes a housing; a main braking unit installed on one part of the housing, and driven by a hydraulic pressure and pressing a shoe, during main braking; a parking braking unit installed on the other part of the housing, and driven by an electromotive force of an actuator and pressing the shoe, during parking braking; and a locking member locked to the housing through the actuator and a back plate, and fastening the actuator and the housing to the back plate.

DRUM BRAKE APPARATUS
A drum brake apparatus includes: a housing; a main braking unit disposed on a first portion of the housing, and the main braking unit configured to be, during main braking, driven by a hydraulic pressure and pressing a shoe; a parking braking unit disposed on a second portion of the housing, the parking braking unit configured to be, during parking braking, driven by an electromotive force of an actuator and pressing the shoe; a first locking member configured to couple the housing to one surface of a back plate; and a second locking member configured to couple the actuator to the housing on another surface side of the back plate.
ELECTRICAL WHEEL BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH IMPROVED END POSITION RECOGNITION
An electrical wheel brake actuator for motor vehicles, designed to move a brake pad in the direction of a brake rotor and having an electric motor-gear assembly with a rotation-translation converter assembly that includes a nut-spindle arrangement, and an elastic element which is associated with a release end stop of the spindle arrangement in order, together with a control unit, to allow the electric motor to be automatically electrically switched off. The elastic element includes at least two disc springs which are able to form an expanded segmented force-travel spring curve formed from multiple force-travel spring curve portions.

KNUCKLE FOR A SELF-STEERING AXLE/SUSPENSION SYSTEM
A knuckle for a heavy-duty vehicle self-steering axle/suspension system that includes integrally formed structure for mounting components of a drum brake system. The knuckle includes a spindle that is welded directly to the knuckle and a discrete tie rod arm bolted to the knuckle.
Reverse input shutoff clutch, electric valve timing adjustment device, variable compression ratio device, and electric power steering device
The reverse input shutoff clutch includes: an input member, an output member coaxially arranged with the input member, a pressed member having a pressed surface, and an engaging element. The engaging element, when rotational torque is inputted to the input member, moves in a direction away from the pressed surface due to engagement with the input member and transmits the rotational torque to the output member, and when rotational torque is reversely inputted to the output member, moves in a direction toward the pressed surface due to engagement with the output member, and prevents or suppresses relative rotation between the output member and the pressed member.
