Drum brake shoe with vibration damping supports
A brake shoe for a drum brake includes a unitary body defining a brake table and one or more webs supporting the brake table. Each web has first and second ends. The first end is configured for pivotally coupling to an associated brake spider of the drum brake and the second end is configured to respond to a force applied by an actuator that causes the brake shoe to move between positions of engagement and disengagement with an associated braking surface. The unitary body further defines one or more supports extending between the two webs and/or between one of the webs and the brake table. In some embodiments, the supports comprise vibration dampers configured to deflect from an unloaded position to a loaded position in the presence of a load and to return to the unloaded position in the absence of the load.

Lifting device with shackle drop brake
A lifting device includes a base part, a connecting part, and at least one shackle drop brake. The base part attaches to an object, such as a loading platform or a load. The connecting part serves to attach a sling, lifting, lashing or tensioning means and is pivotable about a swivel axis relative to the base part. The base part also has a bearing surface which defines an assembly plane. The shackle drop brake acts between the base part and the connecting part. The shackle drop brake has at least one holding point configured to hold a weight of the connecting part when the connecting part is in a swivel position that is angled with respect to a vertical axis extending from the assembly plane.

BRAKE SHOE GUIDE IMPROVEMENTS
A heavy vehicle drum brake shoe guide and an assembly comprising the brake shoe guide are described. In one aspect, there is provided a brake shoe guide for attachment to a drum brake shoe by a pin fastener, to prevent brake shoe misalignment. There is also provided a brake shoe guide assembly including at least a brake shoe guide and a pin fastener for securing the brake shoe guide to a drum brake shoe. The brake shoe guide described herein is simple to fit to a standard, off the shelf brake shoe, and can be retrofitable to a brake shoe and/or brake assembly. Moreover, the brake shoe guide assembly described herein can retain the cam follower roller to the brake shoe, and act as an axle for the cam follower roller, eliminating the need for a separate retainer clip. Further still, the guide and the assembly of which it forms a part can be used with drums of various sizes.
