BRAKE DISC SYSTEM
In some examples, a brake disc includes a lining carrier and a friction pad covering a carrier surface of the lining carrier. The lining carrier defines a recess configured to receive a protrusion extending from the carrier surface when the friction pad covers the carrier surface. The friction pad is configured to transfer a torque to the lining carrier via the protrusion when a friction surface of brake disc engages an adjacent brake disc during a braking operation of a brake assembly. In examples, the brake disc includes a fastener configured to couple the lining carrier and the friction pad.
VEHICLE BRAKE ROTOR AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A vehicle brake rotor is provided, including manufacturing a friction ring with an opening, an annular flange projecting axially relative to a face of the friction ring, and a plurality of spaced lugs projecting radially from the flange. A hub is manufactured with a plurality of recesses integrally upon the friction ring. Next, the hub is manufactured or machined so that outermost ends of the lugs are visible from an exterior of the hub.
CARBON-CARBON COMPOSITE DISC BRAKE ASSEMBLY
In some examples, a disc brake assembly and methods of forming and assembling said brake disc assembly. The brake disc assembly including a core structure and a plurality of wear pads. The core structure having a first major surface comprising at least one curved ridge or curved channel that extends in a radial direction along the first major surface between an inner and outer diameter of the core structure. Each wear pad defining a friction surface and a mounting surface such that the mounting surfaces of the plurality of wear pads are positioned adjacent to, and in contact with, the first major surface of the core structure, where at least one of the mounting surfaces of the plurality of wear pads includes a corresponding curved ridge or curved channel configured to interlink with the at least one curved ridge or curved channel of the core structure.
Friction plate including mechanically connected friction paper segments
A friction plate is provided. The friction plate includes a core plate including a plurality of cutouts extending axially therethrough; a plurality of friction material segments, each of the segments being received in one of the cutouts; and at least one connector affixing the frictional material segments in place in the cutouts to form a mechanical connection between the friction material segments and the core plate. A method of forming a friction plate for a clutch is also provided. The method includes attaching a plurality of friction material segments to a core plate including a plurality of cutouts extending axially therethrough by inserting each of the friction material segments into one of the cutouts and affixing the friction material segments in place with at least one connector to form a mechanical connection between the friction material segments and the core plate.
Brake disk and method for manufacturing the same
Disclosed are a brake disk and a method for manufacturing the same. In particular, the brake disk may include a friction surface formed of cast iron, and the friction surface of the brake disk is divided into a plurality of sections in a circumferential direction. Preferably, an average of the numbers per unit area of eutectic cells formed on surfaces of the sections may not be greater than 300 ea/cm.sup.2.
Ventilated Brake Disc
A friction ring configured to be fixed to a hub at one or more fixation points is provided. The friction ring includes a ring shaped body; an outer surface configured to be contacted by a brake mechanism; an inner surface configured to contact a portion of a hub or axle to impart a braking force thereto; at least one through-hole for receiving a fastener for fixing the friction ring to the hub or axle; and at least two protrusions extending from the inner surface of the friction ring forming a channel. A cross-sectional area of an inflow portion of the channel is smaller than a cross-sectional area of an outflow portion of the channel. A brake assembly including a hub and the fixation ring is also provided.
Vehicle brake rotor and method of making same
A method of making a vehicle brake rotor is provided, including manufacturing a friction ring with an opening, an annular flange projecting axially relative to a face of the friction ring, and a plurality of spaced lugs projecting radially from the flange. A hub is manufactured with a plurality of recesses integrally upon the friction ring. Next, the hub is manufactured or machined so that outermost ends of the lugs are visible from an exterior of the hub.
RETROFITTING AN ELEVATOR MACHINE WITH PRIMARY AND SECONDARY BRAKING
A method is disclosed of retrofitting an elevator machine with primary and secondary braking, the machine being disposed on a machine support frame in an elevator machine room, and engaging one or more ropes for providing selective movement of an elevator car disposed in an elevator shaft, the machine having a drive sheave including a cylindrical brake drum, and brake components including dual brake arms; the method including: removing the brake components; affixing flanged disc segments about the drum and interlocking the flanged disc segments to form a brake rotor; and mounting respective brake calipers to frame mounts for providing primary and secondary braking to the elevator machine.
Two piece torque limiting clutch brake
A torque-limiting a clutch brake is provided for an input shaft of a vehicle transmission. The clutch brake employs wave springs in its torque-limiting feature and can largely be fabricated from sheet metal parts.
BRAKE DISK
A brake disk includes: an outer disk, being substantially ring-shaped and defining a central axis, an inner annular flange of the outer disk formed with connecting bridges, the connecting bridge having a protruding portion disposed through a disposing hole axially; an inner disk, coaxially disposed in the outer disk and located on a same plane with the outer disk, an outer annular flange of the inner disk formed with recessed portions corresponding to the protruding portions respectively, the protruding portion fittingly engaged with the recessed portion to prevent the inner disk from rotating relative to the outer disk, the recessed portion and the protruding portion having a gap therebetween; a plurality of positioning members, each positioning member disposed through the disposing hole to restrain the outer and inner disks from moving relatively axially; wherein the outer and inner disks are axially non-overlapping.
