A solid type brake disc includes a hat part that includes a circular body that is fitted on a rotary shaft of a wheel and a plurality of hollow protrusions that are formed around the outer surface of the body and each have an internal space. A tone ring attachment for a disc brake rotor. The disc brake rotor has a disc portion that includes a plurality of circumferentially-spaced lugs. Each one of the lugs has a groove. A discrete tone ring body has a plurality of bosses. Each one of the bosses is receivable in a respective one of the grooves in the lugs. A dart projection extends from at least one of the bosses. The dart projection engages a respective one of the lugs to inhibit relative axial movement and relative rotational movement in at least one direction between the tone ring and the disc brake rotor. A tab is formed on at least one of the bosses. The tab is engageable with a portion of the lug to inhibit relative rotational movement in a second direction opposite the first direction between the tone ring and disc brake rotor.

The brake rotor has a plurality of locating tabs, with each locating tab having a slope surface. The tone ring has a plurality of retaining tabs, with each retaining tab being received between two locating tabs of the brake rotor. A retaining ring is fitted in each locating tab slope surface of the brake rotor to press fit against the retaining tabs of the tone ring.

A brake disc assembly includes a disc main body having first through holes, a connecting seat having second through holes, and fastening devices each including a bolt, a nut, a spacer clamped between the disc main body and connecting seat and including a third through hole, and a sleeve including a fourth through hole. An insertion portion of the sleeve is disposed in the first, second and third through holes. The bolt includes a rod portion inserted through the fourth through hole and having a threaded section onto which the nut is screwed so that the disc main body, spacer, connecting seat and an abutment portion of the sleeve are clamped between a head portion of the bolt and the nut. The brake disc assembly has concise structure and low manufacturing cost, and provides slight floating effect of the disc main body while preventing foreign objects from entering therein.

Tone ring and attachment structure

A tone ring attachment for a disc brake rotor. The disc brake rotor has a disc portion that includes a plurality of circumferentially-spaced lugs. Each one of the lugs has a groove. A discrete tone ring body has a plurality of bosses. Each one of the bosses is receivable in a respective one of the grooves in the lugs. A dart projection extends from at least one of the bosses. The dart projection engages a respective one of the lugs to inhibit relative axial movement and relative rotational movement in at least one direction between the tone ring and the disc brake rotor. A tab is formed on at least one of the bosses. The tab is engageable with a portion of the lug to inhibit relative rotational movement in a second direction opposite the first direction between the tone ring and disc brake rotor.

Disc brake rotor assembly

An assembly to secure a disc brake rotor to a wheel hub utilizing spring pins and a retaining ring is provided. A partial keyway is formed in the rotor, and a partial keyway is formed in the wheel hub. The rotor is fitted over an inwardly extending section of the hub, with the partial keyways in the rotor and in the wheel hub being aligned to form complete keyways. The spring pins are then press fit into the completed keyways. Finally, a retaining ring is installed into a slot formed in the inwardly extending section of the wheel hub to complete the assembly of the disc brake rotor assembly.
