Restoring device for restoring a brake pad
The invention relates to a restoring device (1) for restoring a brake pad of a motor vehicle disc brake, and to a motor vehicle disc brake which comprises a restoring device of this type. The restoring device (1) comprises a wear compensation means (2) and a tension arrangement (7) for generating a restoring force, having a bearing region (10) for support on a brake carrier of the motor vehicle disc brake, and a coupling section (8), the bearing region (10) defining a bearing plane (AE) by way of a bearing contact (11) which, when the tension arrangement (7) bears against the brake carrier, comes into contact with the latter. Furthermore, the restoring device (1) comprises a coupling device (4), by way of which the wear compensation means and the tension arrangement (7) are coupled to one another or can be coupled to one another in such a way that, in the coupled state of the wear compensation means (2) and the tension arrangement (7), it permits a perpendicular orientation of the wear compensation axis (VA) with respect to the bearing plane (AE) and an orientation of the wear compensation axis (VA) which differs from the perpendicular orientation and is inclined within a pivot angle range (a) towards the bearing plane (AE) in every extent direction of the bearing plane (AE).

DISC BRAKE CALIPER
A disc brake (10) of the type including a pivoting lever having eccentric journals which act on a pair of tappets is disclosed. The tappets are adjusted in length by rotation, and each tappet has a tappet gear (22). A centrally located intermediate gear (24) is provided between the tappet gears to form a gear train, synchronizing the rotation of the two tappets and therefore ensuring that they remain the same length. The centrally located intermediate gear (24) includes a socket (26) for receiving a centrally located adjuster. The adjuster may be installed and removed from the disc brake through an aperture at the rear of the brake caliper, without any substantial disassembly of the brake and without de-synchronizing the tappets or even interrupting the gear train between the tappets.

Braking and indexing assembly for rotating members
An assembly is described for braking and indexing rotating components, including guide rollers of balers. A wheel is attached to a rotating component and is surrounded, at least in part, by a traction device. A tensioning assembly with a lost motion linkage is attached to the traction device and to a frame. A counterforce assembly is also attached to the traction device and to the frame. When a portion of the tensioning assembly is moved in a braking direction, the stop prevents further movement of the lost motion linkage to apply a tensioning force to the traction device. The tensioning force is resisted by the counterforce assembly to impose a braking force on the wheel and thereby brake the rotating component. Moving the portion of the tensioning assembly in a release direction moves the lost motion linkage away from the stop, thereby reducing the braking force on the wheel.
