20170089413 · 2017-03-30 ·

A control system (44) for a clutch (18) of a manual transmission (16) in a vehicle (10) having an ECU (22), an engine (14), a pedal (26) having a sensor (42), a slave (34) in fluid communication with a master (36); and at least one input (24). The control system (44) includes a pump (50), a valve (52) in fluid communication with the slave (34) and pump (50), and a controller (46) responsive to the ECU (22) and operable in a plurality of modes for selectively cooperating with the pedal (26) to actuate the slave (34) and modulate the clutch (18) under predetermined engine (14) and vehicle (10) operating conditions. The controller (46) is movable between modes in response to signals from the ECU (22) representing predetermined changes in one or more of: engine speed, engine load, vehicle speed, transmission gear, pedal position, or input state.

Method for operating a motor vehicle with a dual clutch transmission and control unit for carrying out the method

A method of operating a dual-clutch transmission of a vehicle having partial transmissions with respective transmission input shafts. Two friction clutches can couple a corresponding input shaft of the partial transmissions to a drive shaft. Both partial transmissions drive a common output shaft. In a process for starting the motor vehicle, a gear in each of the two partial transmissions is engaged and, if the starting speed of the vehicle in a primary direction is lower than a limit value, the gears in the two partial transmissions are kept engaged. If, however, the starting speed is higher than the limit value, the gear for the travel in an opposite direction in the partial transmission, not involved in the starting process, is disengaged and a follow-up gear, for the gear in the partial transmission involved in the starting process, is engaged.

A method may be provided for correcting a raw signal supplied by a pressure sensor in an all wheel drive system having a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic fluid. The method may include measuring the raw signal supplied by the pressure sensor, determining when the all wheel drive system is in a state where the hydraulic fluid is at a known pressure determined independently from the pressure sensor, determining a new zero-point offset by comparing the raw signal to a voltage value associated with the known pressure, and creating a corrected voltage signal by adjusting the raw signal based on the new zero-point offset. This corrected voltage signal may be converted into a pressure reading for controlling the all wheel drive system.

METHOD FOR PREVENTING OVERHEATING OF CLUTCH FOR VEHICLE

A method for preventing overheating of a clutch for a vehicle may include determining, by a controller, whether a state of the vehicle satisfies a hill hold condition; acquiring, by the controller, a temperature of a clutch between an engine and a transmission when the hill hold condition is satisfied; applying, by the controller, a first torque having a predetermined square wave shape to the clutch when the temperature of the clutch reaches a first temperature; and applying, by the controller, a second torque having a predetermined sine wave shape to the clutch when the temperature of the clutch reaches a second temperature higher than the first temperature.
