A drive train arrangement for a motor vehicle includes at least one drive device, a start-up element arrangement, a gear drive arrangement, at least one driveshaft configured to drive drive wheels, an electronic operator control member configured to be operated, a torque control member, and a controller. The controller is configured to store torque regions for a change in load and to transmit a torque default value to the torque control member depending on an actuation of the electronic operator control member. The stored torque regions are zero transition regions with a zero transition starting point and a zero transition end point for covering all zero-load clearance regions. The controller is configured to adapt at least one respective zero transition region of at least one respective stored torque region.

A clutch torque estimating method for a transmission of a vehicle may include inputting model engine torque to a powertrain model by a controller; inputting target clutch torque of a first clutch and target clutch torque of a second clutch to the powertrain model by the controller; inputting shifting information related to the vehicle to the powertrain model by the controller; correcting the powertrain model in real time by feeding back an engine angular velocity error, a clutch angular velocity error of the first clutch, a clutch angular velocity error of the second clutch, a wheel angular velocity error to the powertrain model by the controller; and estimating clutch torque of the first clutch and clutch torque of the second clutch by determining the powertrain model by the controller.

CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A VEHICLE HAVING A CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
A vehicle control system in a vehicle having a continuously variable transmission (CVT) system with a clutch mechanism modulates a torque capacity of the clutch mechanism. The CVT system in the vehicle further includes a primary pulley, a secondary pulley and a CVT belt for transmitting a torque to wheels from a power source rotatably connected with an input shaft. The clutch mechanism includes a forward (FWD) clutch between the power source and a CVT pulley assembly. The vehicle control system detects a wheel slip of the CVT system and controls a torque capacity of the FWD clutch, and the system is configured for avoiding a slip of the CVT belt by dissipating a spike torque generated by the wheel slip.

A vehicle includes: a transmission including an input shaft that receives power inputted from a power source for travel of the vehicle and an output shaft that outputs power to a drive wheel; a manual gear shifting power transmission mechanism that delivers an operation force of a driver as gear shifting power to the transmission; a clutch disposed between the power source for travel of the vehicle and the input shaft; and a controlled clutch actuation power transmission mechanism that delivers power of a clutch actuator as clutch actuation power to the clutch.
Power transfer system with clutch protection through interaction with other vehicle systems
A power transfer assembly for a motor vehicle includes a clutch protection system to prevent damage to an actively-controlled multi-plate mode clutch of the power transfer assembly. The clutch protection system includes a transfer case control module (TCCM) and an engine control module (ECM) configured to regulate the distribution of torque applied from an engine to front and rear output shafts of the power transfer assembly. The TCCM is in operable communication with the engine control module ECM, wherein TCCM is configured to detect slip in the actively-controlled multi-plate friction clutch and to communicate with the ECM to selectively reduce the output torque of the engine in response to detected slip.
Control of a powertrain backlash
A method and a system for controlling a backlash of a powertrain included in a vehicle in connection with a gear shifting operation is presented. The method comprises: controlling, in connection with a first gear shifting operation, a clutch included in the powertrain to a slipping position, in which slipping position the clutch transfers a slipping torque that is less than a torque being transferred in a closed position for the clutch; analyzing a change of a rotational speed for an input shaft of a gearbox included in the powertrain; determining a position for the clutch, for which position the change of the rotational speed has a value corresponding to a backlash torque, the backlash torque having a predetermined value for eliminating the backlash; and utilizing the determined clutch position for controlling the clutch in connection with a second subsequent gear shifting operation.
Vehicle apparatus and method
The present invention relates to a vehicle (1) having a torque generating machine (4); and one or more driven wheel (W.sub.D). A driveline (6) is provided for transmitting torque from the torque generating machine (4) to said one or more driven wheel. The driveline (6) includes a torque transmitting means (8). A first decoupling mechanism (11) is operable to decouple the torque transmitting means (8) from the torque generating machine (4). The first decoupling mechanism (11) is closed to couple the torque transmitting means (8) to the torque generating machine (4) and is opened to decouple the torque transmitting means (8) from the torque generating machine (4). A second decoupling mechanism (12) is operable to decouple the torque transmitting means (8) from the one or more driven wheel. The second decoupling mechanism (12) is closed to couple the torque transmitting means (8) to the one or more driven wheel and is opened to decouple the torque transmitting means (8) from the one or more driven wheel. A controller (2) is provided having at least one electronic processor for controlling operation of the first and second decoupling mechanisms (11, 12). The at least one electronic processor (P) is configured to close the second decoupling mechanism (12) to couple the torque transmitting means (8) to the one or more driven wheel, determine a target operating speed of the torque generating machine (4), control an operating speed of the torque generating machine (4) in dependence on the determined target operating speed and close the first decoupling mechanism (11) when the operating speed of the torque generating machine (4) at least substantially matches the determined target operating speed. The present invention also relates to a corresponding method of controlling first and second decoupling mechanisms (11, 12) to control the transmittal of torque from a torque generating machine (4) to one or more driven wheel of a vehicle (1).
Method and Apparatus for Protecting Clutch in Vehicle Driving Process
Related are a method and an apparatus for protecting a clutch in a vehicle driving process. The method comprises: acquiring a current oil temperature of a space where the clutch is located and judging whether the current oil temperature is within a set temperature interval or not; in a case where the current oil temperature is within the set temperature interval, detecting whether a current wheel speed difference between front shaft and rear shaft reaches to a set wheel speed difference threshold or not; and in a case where the current wheel speed difference between the front shaft and rear shaft reaches to the set wheel speed difference threshold, triggering a first protective mode that is preset to protect the clutch; and in a case where the current oil temperature is higher than the set temperature interval, triggering, a second protective mode that is preset to protect the clutch.
