Adjustable clutch control based upon drive mode
An illustrative example vehicle torque control system includes a clutch that is at least partially automatically controllable. A manual clutch control means allows a driver to control engagement of the clutch. A clutch control means automatically controls a characteristic of clutch engagement based on a selected drive mode.
Vehicle, controller for vehicle, and control method for vehicle
A clutch is controlled to increase torque capacity of the clutch when fluctuations in torsional torque generated in a power transmission route between the clutch and a drive wheel are larger than a specified value during deceleration traveling. Accordingly, engine brake whose magnitude corresponds to an increased amount of the torque capacity of the clutch is actuated. Therefore, the fluctuations in the torsional torque can be suppressed by the engine brake.
CLUTCH CONTROL DEVICE
A clutch control device includes an ECU that controls a clutch actuator, the ECU sets a control target value of the clutch capacity according to the operation amount detected by the clutch operation amount sensor, and executes feedback control so that the control parameter which is detected by the control parameter sensor approaches the control target value, and changes a method of the feedback control when the control parameter reaches a predetermined control state change determination value during the feedback control.
RETARDING SYSTEM AND LOCK-UP CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT CONTROL
A method for controlling an engagement of a lock-up clutch (LUC) of a torque converter of a machine is disclosed. The method includes detecting a pedal tap of a pedal, wherein the pedal tap is detected when the pedal is depressed from a position corresponding to a pedal displacement less than a first threshold displacement to a position corresponding to a pedal displacement greater than a second threshold displacement, and then released to a position corresponding to a pedal displacement less than the first threshold displacement within a threshold time duration. The method further includes causing the LUC to move to the LUC unlocked position if the pedal tap is detected.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A DRIVE TRAIN OF A MOTOR VEHICLE IN AN INCLINED POSITION
A method for operating a drive train of a motor vehicle in an inclined position, in particular an agricultural or municipal utility vehicle. A connection between a prime mover and at least one drive axle of the motor vehicle is automatically disconnected as part of a function upon actuation of a service brake for stopping the motor vehicle monitored by at least one sensor. To avoid uncontrolled backward rolling, provision is made that a maximum brake pressure applied to achieve or maintain the standstill of the motor vehicle is determined and monitored by continually measuring a brake pressure applied by the service brake. Upon the brake pressure falling below the maximum brake pressure minus a pre-definable pressure difference, the function is automatically deactivated and thus the connection is automatically re-established between the prime mover and the at least one drive axle.
Manual-shift motor vehicle transmission clutch actuator with a damper
A clutch actuator for a manual-shift motor vehicle transmission, includes a driver-operated clutch pedal or lever, a clutch linkage between a clutch of the motor vehicle and the pedal or lever, and a damper adapted to delay clutch engagement on a fast release of the clutch pedal or lever. The damper is effective to delay clutch engagement only within a limited range of a whole clutch engagement movement and is substantially ineffective outside the limited range and within the whole range of a clutch disengagement movement.
HYDRAULIC CLUTCH SYSTEM FOR MOTORCYCLE AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
A hydraulic clutch system for a motorcycle includes a foot pedal for engaging and disengaging a hydraulic clutch via hydraulic fluid in a first hydraulic fluid conduit and a hand clutch lever for engaging and disengaging the hydraulic clutch via hydraulic fluid in a second hydraulic fluid conduit. A solenoid or similar article switches the system between foot pedal and hand clutch lever control based on pressure in hydraulic lines extending from the foot pedal and hand clutch lever to the hydraulic clutch. A pressure switch, micro-switch or similar article communicates with, and activates the solenoid or other article to switch between lines.
CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SENSOR DIAGNOSTIC
A system and method of diagnosing a clutch pedal position sensor of a vehicle includes determining if a speed of the vehicle speed is less than a first predetermined speed, recording a maximum clutch pedal voltage, determining if a vehicle launch event is in progress, recording a minimum clutch pedal voltage, determining a voltage difference between the maximum clutch pedal voltage and the minimum clutch pedal voltage, and declaring a clutch pedal position sensor fault based on a comparison between the voltage difference and a threshold voltage.
Clutch connection/disconnection device for dual clutch transmission
A clutch-side transmission circuit transmits, from a clutch pedal, a restoring action of the depressed clutch pedal. A switching device connects a first clutch-side hydraulic circuit to the pedal-side hydraulic circuit when a shift lever SL is tilted forwards and connects a second clutch-side hydraulic circuit to the pedal-side hydraulic circuit when the shift lever SL is tilted rearwards. A first clutch is engaged in response to the restoring action of the clutch pedal being transmitted from the first clutch-side transmission circuit. A second clutch is engaged in response to the restoring action of the clutch pedal being transmitted from the second clutch-side transmission circuit.
