Temperature based clutch control
A vehicle includes a clutch to couple a motor and transmission, and a controller that, in response to a regenerative braking request and a temperature being within a first range, partially capacitizes the clutch for regenerative torque transfer therethrough with slip, and in response to another regenerative braking request and the temperature being within a second range less than the first, fully capacitizes the clutch prior to regenerative torque transfer therethough to preclude slip.
Vehicle control device for controlling inertia operation of vehicle
A vehicle control device turns off a clutch to put a vehicle into an inertia operation state in response to a predetermined executing condition being met, and turns on the clutch to terminate the inertia operation state in response to a predetermined terminating condition being met during the inertia operation. The vehicle control device includes a deceleration degree calculating device, a determination device, and an operation control device. The deceleration degree calculating device calculates an actual deceleration degree. The determination device determines whether the actual deceleration degree is greater than a threshold value defined on the basis of a deceleration degree of the vehicle in an accelerator-off and clutch-on state. The operation control device terminates or maintains the inertia operation depending on a condition of the actual deceleration degree.
Methods and systems of actuating a clutch of a manual transmission during autonomous braking
Systems and methods are provided for actuating a clutch of a manual transmission of a vehicle comprising. An automatic emergency braking (AEB) system is configured to automatically initiate an AEB event and a brake controller is configured to automatically actuate a braking system of the vehicle. A powertrain controller in is configured to monitor vehicle parameters and determine when an engine of the vehicle is nearing stall. A clutch control module is configured to actuate a clutch hydraulic master cylinder and actuate the clutch. A vehicle sensor network is configured to detect objects surrounding the vehicle. The AEB system is configured to initiate the AEB event based on detected objects surrounding the vehicle and, when the AEB event is initiated, instruct the brake controller to automatically actuate the braking system and instruct the clutch control module to actuate the clutch when the vehicle is nearing stall.
Method and device for learning engine clutch kiss point of hybrid vehicle
A method for learning engine clutch kiss point of a hybrid vehicle is provided. The method includes adjusting a speed of a driving motor to be reduced when a deceleration event is generated in front of the hybrid vehicle and adjusting a speed of an engine to be synchronized with the speed of the driving motor. An engine clutch that connects the engine with the driving motor or disconnects the engine from the driving motor is engaged to start and then a kiss point of the engine clutch is learned by detecting the kiss point that is generated when the engine clutch is in a slip state.
Method for preventing burst of clutch for vehicle
The present disclosure provides technology for preventing burst of a clutch under the driving circumstance, which enters into a road surface with a high friction coefficient after passing through a road surface with a low friction coefficient in vehicle driving; and the present disclosure determines if a wheel-lock has occurred in driving based on a factor reflecting a driving status of the vehicle; upon determining occurrence of the wheel-lock, in the case that a vehicle speed rapidly increases and a difference value between a transmission input shaft speed and an engine speed, which form a current driving gear, is larger than a set value, blocks a mechanical engagement between a clutch and a wheel, which form the current driving gear.
Control apparatus
A control apparatus for an automatic transmission including a torque converter with a lock-up clutch capable of connecting the output shaft of an engine and the input shaft of the automatic transmission includes a state determination unit configured to determine, based on an operation signal from an ABS device, whether the ABS device of a vehicle is in a normally operating state or in a fail state, a rotation speed determination unit configured to determine whether the rotation speed of the input shaft is not less than a reference rotation speed, and an operation control unit configured to control engagement of the lock-up clutch based on the operation state of the ABS device and the result of comparison between the rotation speed of the input shaft and the reference rotation speed.
Method for preventing burst of clutch for vehicle
The present disclosure relates to a technique of suppressing the occurrence of an impact caused by clutch engagement by differently controlling a clutch depending on whether or not a brake is in operation. Disclosed is a method of controlling a clutch for a vehicle, which effectively reduces engagement impact that occurs when the clutch is engaged by performing control such that a rising slope of clutch torque up to a touch point is gentler when the brake is not in operation than when the brake is in operation.
RETARDING SYSTEM AND LOCK-UP CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT CONTROL
A method for controlling an engagement of a lock-up clutch (LUC) of a torque converter of a machine is disclosed. The method includes detecting a pedal tap of a pedal, wherein the pedal tap is detected when the pedal is depressed from a position corresponding to a pedal displacement less than a first threshold displacement to a position corresponding to a pedal displacement greater than a second threshold displacement, and then released to a position corresponding to a pedal displacement less than the first threshold displacement within a threshold time duration. The method further includes causing the LUC to move to the LUC unlocked position if the pedal tap is detected.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A DRIVE TRAIN OF A MOTOR VEHICLE IN AN INCLINED POSITION
A method for operating a drive train of a motor vehicle in an inclined position, in particular an agricultural or municipal utility vehicle. A connection between a prime mover and at least one drive axle of the motor vehicle is automatically disconnected as part of a function upon actuation of a service brake for stopping the motor vehicle monitored by at least one sensor. To avoid uncontrolled backward rolling, provision is made that a maximum brake pressure applied to achieve or maintain the standstill of the motor vehicle is determined and monitored by continually measuring a brake pressure applied by the service brake. Upon the brake pressure falling below the maximum brake pressure minus a pre-definable pressure difference, the function is automatically deactivated and thus the connection is automatically re-established between the prime mover and the at least one drive axle.
METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR OPERATING A DRIVELINE DISCONNECT CLUTCH
Systems and methods for operating a hybrid driveline that includes an engine, a motor/generator, and a driveline disconnect clutch are described. The systems and methods may improve vehicle efficiency while providing expected vehicle operation and performance. In one example, transmission line pressure is adjusted to match driveline disconnect clutch torque capacity to driver demand torque.
