The invention relates to a one-piece balance spring comprising a single strip wound on itself between an inner coil and an outer coil, the strip having a geometry such that when the angle of contraction of the balance spring has a value of 360 degrees, there is a constant distance between each coil from the second coil to the penultimate coil.

The invention described herein improves the trigger feel and reset perception using three primary alterations. First, the addition of a spring that presses against the trigger bar, further increasing the reset action. Second, the addition of a pin or screw to a specific location on the trigger bar, increasing the deformation of the trigger bar when pushed to the side by the slide. The result is the trigger bar holds a greater force, increasing the tactility of the reset. Third, the use of a specific sear shape, altering the camming action of the sear, and thus how the sear interacts with the trigger bar and firing pin. Each of these inventions alone results in an improved trigger feel and action. Together the result is a gun with greatly improved trigger characteristics.

In accordance with an exemplary embodiment, a method for manufacturing a bypass valve of a turbine engine control system is described. The bypass valve includes a proportional valve and an integrator valve and the integrator valve includes an integrator spring assembly. The method includes forming the integrator spring assembly using an additive manufacturing technique. The integrator spring assembly comprises first and second end portions with a spring portion disposed between the first and second end portions. The first and second end portions and the spring portion are formed as an integral unit without welding or brazing using the additive manufacturing technique. The method further includes assembling the integrator spring assembly, the integrator valve, and the proportional valve into a complete bypass valve assembly.
