The first sleeve and the second sleeve each include a respective outer armature, a respective inner armature, and a respective elastic body between their respective outer and inner armatures. The elastic articulation also comprises a ring longitudinally connecting the first sleeve and the second sleeve. The ring forms a radial stop between the inner armature and the outer armature of the first sleeve, and between the inner armature and the outer armature of the second sleeve. The elastic articulation improves damping control in different directions.

UNIVERSAL MODULARIZED COIL SPRING BUFFER FOR VEHICLE
20230241936 · 2023-08-03 ·

A modular suspension buffer for a vehicle having customizable hardness and height to provide various combinations of initial contact softness and non-linearly increasing resistance during compression so as to improve driving stability, loading capacity, off road performance, and/or ride comfort while extending the operational lifespan of the vehicle suspension system. Specifically, a universal modular coil spring buffer having a plurality of modules arranged in different configurations adaptable to be inserted in the gap of a coil spring of a vehicle to prevent shocks. The different configurations of a primary module and a plurality of secondary modules can be employed for different vehicles with different coil spring dimensions and based on the distance between the adjacent coils. The buffer lessens the compression to the coil spring thereby minimizing oil leaks caused from the shocks.

VIBRATION ISOLATOR
20210364059 · 2021-11-25 · ·

A vibration isolator configured to restrict vibration generated in a vibration source from being transmitted to a vibration transmitted portion includes at least one elastic member. The vibration transmitted portion is provided with at least one support portion to support the vibration source via the at least one elastic member. The at least one elastic member is disposed between the vibration source and at least the one support portion, and is elastically deformed to suppress the transmission of vibration of the vibration source to the vibration transmitted portion from the at least one support portion. The vibration source and at least the one elastic member are configured so that resonance frequencies in plural vibration modes generated in the vibration source conform to one predetermined frequency.

MULTI-STAGE SUPPRESSOR FOR VIBRATING PILE DRIVER
20210348353 · 2021-11-11 ·

A shock absorbing apparatus (suppressor) for a vibratory pile driver includes three suppressor sections, including a first section adapted and arranged to absorb a load up to a selected amount. A second suppressor section is adapted to absorb a load above the first shock-absorbing section, with a third suppressor system providing a transition between first and second suppressor action as load increases.

Externally-damped electromechanical valve assemblies

Externally-damped electromechanical valve assemblies well-suited for deployment within high vibratory operating environments, such as those associated with work vehicle engines, are provided. In embodiments, the valve assembly includes a housing through which a flow passage extends, a valve element positioned in the flow passage, a valve actuator, and control electronics electrically coupled to the valve actuator. The valve assembly may also contain a constrained layer damper including a first mass element and a first viscoelastic layer. The first mass element is mounted in suspension to the housing exterior for movement relative thereto when the first mass element is excited by vibrations transmitted through the housing. Constrained between the first mass element and the housing exterior, the first viscoelastic layer deflects in shear as the first mass element moves relative to the housing to attenuate the vibrations transmitted through the housing by conversion of vibrational energy to heat.

Biaxial vibration isolation and damping in a concentric plural-cylinder system

An exemplary inventive device is placed between inner and outer concentric cylindrical structures. The inventive device includes at least three coaxial rectangular-toroidal elements adhered together, viz., at least one smaller stiff element, at least one larger stiff element, and at least one resilient element. The elements are arranged so that each resilient element is adjacently positioned between a smaller stiff element and a larger stiff element. The inner circumferential surface of the smaller stiff element contacts the outer circumferential surface of the inner cylindrical structure. The outer circumferential surface of the larger stiff element contacts the inner circumferential surface of the outer cylindrical structure. The inner and outer circumferential surfaces of the resilient element are distanced, respectively, from the inner cylindrical structure's outer circumferential surface and the outer cylindrical structure's inner circumferential surface. Mechanically induced deformations of the resilient elements permit longitudinal displacement and result in vibration isolation/damping in biaxial radial directions.

COMPRESSIBLE DAMPING SYSTEM FOR BODY PART PROTECTION

A body part protector includes an inner layer defining an interior space that is configured to be occupied by a human body part, an outer layer connected to the inner layer and forming at least one chamber therebetween, and a plurality of separate dampers. A damper is at least partially disposed in the chamber. Each damper extends into the interior space along a respective longitudinal axis. Each damper has an outer end disposed at a fixed position relative to the outer layer and an inner end disposed longitudinally opposite the outer end in the interior space. The protector includes a plurality of separate engagement members corresponding to the plurality of dampers. Each engagement member is disposed at the inner end of the corresponding damper and is configured to engage the body part of the user. Each damper includes a plurality of compressible damper elements concentrically arranged about the longitudinal axis.
