A hydraulic vibration damper may include inner and outer tubes filled with damping liquid, a piston rod projecting axially out of the inner tube and movable in rebound and compression directions, a sealing and guide pack that sealingly closes an end of the outer tube and guides piston rod movement, a working piston for producing damping forces that is fastened to the piston rod and is guided on an inner lateral surface of the inner tube and subdivides the interior of the inner tube into a piston rod-side and piston rod-remote working spaces. The vibration damper has rebound and compression stops. In the piston rod-remote working space, a compression stop, starting from a predetermined retraction travel of the piston rod, may produce a travel- and speed-dependent compression stop force.

A shock absorber is provided that includes a shock body and a shaft assembly. The shock body has an inner chamber. The inner chamber is defined by a cylindrical interior surface. At least one groove is formed in the interior surface within at least one select length of the shock body. A piston of the shaft assembly is received within the inner chamber of the shock body. The piston includes valving to allow dampening matter that is received within the inner chamber to pass through the piston to allow the piston to move within the inner chamber. The at least one groove that is formed within the interior surface is configured to allow at least some of the dampening matter to bypass the valving of the piston to allow the piston to move through the at least one select length with less resistance.

The body includes a locking plate and the bottom includes a locking yoke with the locking yoke being secured to the locking plate to define the locking connection. The fixing member includes a head and the locking plate extends radially outwardly from the head defining a recess extending about the center axis. The locking yoke, having an arcuate shape and an L-shaped cross section, extends axially outwardly from the bottom to engage the recess forming the locking connection.

The sleeve is rigidly and releasably connected to the outer body by a number of contact surfaces on an outer surface of the sleeve and/or has at least one guide surface arranged on an inner surface of the sleeve for guiding the piston over the travel path (H).

The hydraulic shock-absorber comprises a hydraulic stop member having a cup-shaped body, which is adapted to be mounted in a compression chamber, and a plunger, mounted at an end of a rod of the shock-absorber so as to slide in the cup-shaped body when the shock-absorber moves towards the compression end-of-travel position. The cup-shaped body comprises a side wall and a bottom wall which define, along with the plunger, a working chamber in which a damping fluid of the shock-absorber is compressed by the plunger when the latter slides in the working chamber towards the bottom wall of the body. Axial channels are formed on the inner surface of the side wall of the body and allow the damping fluid to flow axially out of the working chamber when the plunger slides in the working chamber towards the bottom wall of the cup-shaped body. The axial channels extend parallel to a longitudinal axis (z) of the cup-shaped body and have a cross-section whose area decreases continuously along this axis (z) towards the bottom wall of the cup-shaped body.
