A torque converter is provided. The torque converter includes a damper assembly and a turbine assembly connected to the damper assembly. The turbine assembly includes an axially movable turbine piston, a spacer plate fixed to the turbine piston and a bias spring. The spacer plate retains the bias spring on the turbine piston with a preload force. A method of forming a torque converter is also provided. The method includes providing a bias spring contacting a front cover side surface of a turbine piston; and fixing a spacer plate to the turbine piston such that the spacer plate holds the bias spring against the front cover side surface of the turbine piston.

Centrifugal-force pendulum device

A centrifugal-force pendulum device having a pendulum flange and at least two pendulum masses fastened on both sides of the pendulum flange by means of a spacer bolt received in a cut-out of the pendulum flange to form a pendulum mass pair, wherein the pendulum mass pair is guided and pivoted in a limited manner with respect to the pendulum flange by means of at least two rolling elements, and the rolling elements are received and roll in guide tracks in the pendulum masses and in complementarily shaped guide tracks in the pendulum flange, and wherein the spacer bolt is equipped, in its axial region which reaches through the cut-out in the pendulum flange, with damping means for damping contact of the spacer bolt against the cut-out, and compression of the damping means is limited by contact of a rolling element against the guide track which receives the rolling element.

Torsional vibration reducing device

A torsional vibration reducing device is provided. The torsional vibration reducing device includes a rotating body, a plurality of rolling bodies, and a connection member. The connection member connects the plurality of rolling bodies, and at least two contact portions are positioned on an inner surface of each of the plurality of accommodating portions, a portion of an outer peripheral surface of each of the plurality of rolling bodies being positioned in each of the plurality of accommodating portions, and the outer peripheral surface of each of the plurality of rolling bodies being configured to come into point contact with the contact portions in the circumferential direction of the rotating body.

The hysteresis generating mechanism generates a hysteresis torque and includes a friction member. The friction member is configured to make frictional contact with the first or second rotor. The friction member does not make frictional contact with the first and second rotors in a first torsion angular range where torsion is caused from a neutral condition to a first side and a second side in the rotational direction. The friction member makes frictional contact with the first or second rotor so as to generate a hysteresis torque in a second torsion angular range exceeding the first torsion angular range. The friction member is set in a neutral position by actuation of the elastic coupling part in the neutral condition.

A damper device includes a first rotor, a second rotor, an elastic coupling part having first and second elastic members, and a hysteresis generating mechanism. The hysteresis generating mechanism includes a friction member, and generates a hysteresis torque. The friction member does not make frictional contact with the first and second rotors in a first torsion angular range where the torsion is caused between the first and second rotors by a first torsion angle from a neutral condition, makes frictional contact with the first or second rotor in a second torsion angular range exceeding the first torsion angle so as to generate the hysteresis torque, and does not make frictional contact with the first and second rotors in a predetermined torsion angular range within the second torsion angular range. In the neutral condition, the friction member is set in a neutral position by actuation of the elastic coupling part.

A centrifugal pendulum absorber is provided. The centrifugal pendulum absorber includes a first pair of masses, a second pair of masses, and a spring extending circumferentially from first notches in the masses of the first pair into second notches in the masses of the second pair. The spring connects the first pair of masses and the second pair of masses and includes a first enlarged end portion extending past an outer diameter of coils of the spring and a second enlarged end portion extending past the outer diameter of the coils of the spring. The first enlarged end portion is connected to the first pair of masses in the first notches without an interference fit and the second enlarged end portion being connected to the second pair of masses in the second notches without an interference fit. A method of forming a centrifugal pendulum absorber is also provided.

Absorber system

A mass damper system includes a damper mass carrier having movable damper mass and a stop. The damper mass moves within a predetermined movement region during an operating state. A first movement region portion bounded by an initial position in which the damper mass is free from a deflection in circumferential direction and by a limit position in which the damper mass has undergone a deflection, and a second movement region portion defined by the limit position and a stop position in which the damper mass has come in contact with the stop. At a side facing the stop, the damper mass has a proximity profile that correspond to a stop profile such that in the first movement region portion the damper mass remains within a residual distance region relative to the stop in one extension portion of the proximity profile.

A hydrokinetic torque coupling device for coupling together driving and driven shafts, comprises a casing, impeller and turbine wheels, a torsional vibration damper, a turbine hub non-rotatably connected to the turbine wheel, and first and second vibration absorbers. Each of the first and second vibration absorbers is one of a dynamic absorber and a pendulum oscillator. The turbine hub is non-rotatably coupled to a driven member of the torsional vibration damper. The first vibration absorber is mounted to the turbine hub and the second vibration absorber is mounted to one of the turbine hub and the casing. The first vibration absorber and the second vibration absorber are tuned to address different orders of vibrations. The dynamic absorber includes an inertial member and a connecting plate coupled to the inertial member. The pendulum oscillator includes a support member and flyweights configured to oscillate relative to the support member.

A centrifugal pendulum absorber for a torque converter is provided. The centrifugal pendulum absorber includes a center plate; a roller received in a roller slot formed in the center plate; and a first mass on a rear axial side of the center plate and a second mass on a front axial side of the center plate. The first and second masses are slidable with respect to the center plate along the slot roller. The first mass includes a first radially extending section and a first axial protrusion extending axially past a rear-side axial surface of the first radially extending section. The second mass includes a second radially extending section and a second axial protrusion extending axially past a front-side axial surface of the second radially extending section. A torque converter and a method of forming a centrifugal pendulum absorber are also provided.
