NUT GAP MONITORING SYSTEM
A lifting column can provide optimized performance with a nut gap system that efficiently and precisely measures a nut gap during lifting operations. The nut gap system can have a rotating core onto which a nut and traveler are positioned. The nut can be separated from the traveler by a nut gap that is monitored by at least one sensor that continuously extends through the nut to access the nut gap.
Secondary load path detection
A nut arrangement for a screw actuator is disclosed for allowing detection of wear in a primary nut of the screw actuator. The nut arrangement comprises a primary nut for providing a primary load path and a secondary nut for providing a secondary load path. An interface ring may link the secondary nut to the primary nut. A sensor is provided to detect relative axial movement between the primary and secondary nuts. During normal operation, the interface ring is seated by a flexible coupling that allows relative axial displacement of the secondary nut to the primary nut to accommodate wear in the primary nut. The sensor can be used to monitor backlash between the primary and secondary nuts to determine wear of the primary nut.
ACTUATOR LOWER ATTACHMENT
A screw actuator having a screw shaft and a nut arrangement is described herein, the nut arrangement comprising: a primary nut; a first secondary nut having a first thread; a second secondary nut having a second thread; and a first attachment means. The first nut, first secondary nut, and second secondary nut are connected to the first attachment means with a first, initial, axial spacing between the first and second secondary nuts. The first secondary nut is mounted to the first attachment means via bearings that allow the first secondary nut to rotate relative to the first attachment. The first secondary nut is connected to the second secondary nut via a screw thread connection having a pitch lower than a pitch of a screw thread of the screw actuator shaft.
Lower attachment system for a trimmable horizontal stabiliser actuator
A lower attachment system for a trimmable horizontal stabiliser actuator comprising: a ballnut for being disposed on a screwshaft of the actuator and forming a part of a primary load path of the lower attachment system; a trunnion connected to the ballnut and forming a part of the primary load path of the lower attachment system; a failsafe plate disposed about the trunnion and forming a part of a secondary load path; a secondary connection connected to the failsafe plate and forming a part of the secondary load path; a sheet plate attached to a first mounting point on the secondary connection and a second mounting point on the ballnut; and an adjustment mechanism provided with the sheet plate for adjusting the size or position of the sheet plate to adapt it to fit a distance between the first and second mounting points.
ACTUATOR FAILURE DETECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A lift device comprises a base, a retractable lift mechanism, a work platform, a linear actuator, and a lift controller. The base has a plurality of wheels. The retractable lift mechanism has a first end coupled to the base and is moveable between an extended position and a retracted position. The work platform is configured to support a load. The work platform is coupled to and supported by a second end of the retractable lift mechanism. The linear actuator is configured to selectively move the retractable lift mechanism between the extended position and the retracted position. The lift controller is configured to monitor at least one lift characteristic associated with the linear actuator and to determine whether an actuator failure has been detected based on the at least one lift characteristic associated with the linear actuator.
LVDT-BASED ACTUATOR OUTPUT LOAD LIMITED
An actuator assembly includes a primary load path for tightly coupling an actuated surface to a reference structure, and a secondary load path having a backlash portion for coupling the actuated surface to the reference structure with backlash, wherein the secondary load path is unloaded during an operative state of the primary load path and loaded during a failure state of the primary load path. A first sensor is configured to sense relative displacement between a portion of the primary load path and a portion of the secondary load path. A controller is operatively coupled to the first sensor, the controller configured to determine a load on the primary load path based on relative displacement sensed by the first sensor.
SCREW ACTUATORS
A screw actuator includes a primary ball nut, a secondary nut, and a ball screw. The primary ball nut and secondary nut are both in threaded engagement with the ball screw, in which the inner functional plays of the screw actuator are configured such that in normal operation the threads of the secondary nut are in contact with the ball screw threads.

A fully-electric lift device includes a base; a retractable lift mechanism, a work platform, an electric linear actuator configured to selectively move the retractable lift mechanism between an extended position and a retracted position, and a controller. The linear actuator includes an electric motor. The controller is in communication with the electric motor and configured to receive a lift command, monitor a required torque for the electric motor based on the lift command, and selectively inhibit the lift command based on the required torque.
LINEAR ACTUATOR WITH CONTACT TYPE SAFETY NUT, AND AERIAL WORK PLATFORM
The present disclosure relates to the technical field of aerial work platforms, in particular to a linear actuator with a contact type safety nut, and an aerial work platform. The linear actuator includes a central screw, a driving nut mechanism, and a safety nut mechanism. The central screw has a screw raceway. The safety nut mechanism includes a safety nut seat sleeved at the periphery of the central screw. Limit hole channels pointing to the central screw are arranged on the safety nut seat. An elastic buffer element is arranged in each of the limit hole channels. A safety ball is arranged between the elastic buffer element and the central screw. The contact type safety nut enables the linear actuator to always keep safety, stability, and no loss of accuracy in a conversion process that the safety nut mechanism gets involved to take effect while the driving nut mechanism fails.
