A system and method for an automotive transmission includes one or more restrictor devices that are installed within a valve body of the automotive transmission to improve performance by establishing a flow limit along the compensator circuit. The complex fluid circuits of certain automotive transmissions having eight to ten speeds allow line pressure supply to bleed out during certain critical functions, such as low rotations per minute hot engagements, which can severely damage the transmission. By limiting flow, the line pressure supply can be preserved to prevent the compensator circuit from bleeding out in these critical functions. The instant invention limits flow by replacing the standard compensator valve with a compensator valve that has a larger spool diameter. Flow is further reduce by another restriction device placed along the compensator circuit between the compensator valve and the clutch drums.

A pressure back-up valve (300) includes a release piston (320) movable between first and second stop positions and a closing body (340) movable to a closing position in which this separates first and second connection pressure chambers (327, 326) when the release piston (320) is in a first stop position. The release piston (320) moves the closing body (340), in the second stop position, into an opening position. The release piston (320) is pressurizable on a first pressure surface (A1) from a first side via a third connection pressure chamber (324) and on a second pressure surface (A2) from a second side via a second connection pressure chamber (326). The closing body (340) is pressurized, in the closing position, from a first side via the second connection pressure chamber (326) on a first pressure surface (A4) and from a second side via the first connection pressure chamber (327) on a second pressure surface (A3) of the closing body (34).

A solenoid assembly includes a solenoid adapted to be coupled to a solenoid connecting member extending from a support member. The solenoid assembly also includes a retaining bracket having a body portion and a securing portion. The body portion is adapted to be removably coupled to the support member. The securing portion is removably coupled to the solenoid. The retaining bracket is moveable between an unsecured position, and a secured position. The securing portion of the retaining bracket provides a spring force to the solenoid when the retaining bracket is in the secured position such that the solenoid is biased toward the solenoid connecting member to secure the solenoid between the solenoid connecting member and the securing portion of said retaining bracket.

Electromagnet for a hydraulic system

An electromagnetic valve for a hydraulic system for an automatic transmission of a vehicle. An armature chamber is filled with hydraulic medium and fluidically connected to hydraulic lines of the hydraulic system. An armature is mounted in the armature chamber such that its stroke is adjustable. The armature includes a shut-off body and divides the armature chamber into an opening-side chamber facing the flow opening and into an inner chamber facing away from the flow opening. During a stroke of the armature, an oil exchange occurs, and a displacement volume of the hydraulic medium overflows from the opening-side chamber into the inner chamber. A hydraulic line leading to the opening-side chamber or to the inner chamber of the armature chamber includes a dirt collecting element that is designed as a permanent magnet and that retains contaminations in the hydraulic medium that flows through the hydraulic line during an oil exchange.
