The first outside sealing annular interface is disposed adjacent to a first axial side and the second outside sealing annular interface is disposed adjacent to the at least one anti-extrusion ring. The elastomeric seal ring includes an inside annular valley formed along an inside diameter, the inside annular valley separating a first inside sealing annular interface apart from a second inside sealing annular interface. The first inside sealing annular interface is disposed adjacent to the first axial side and the second inside sealing annular interface is disposed adjacent to the at least one anti-extrusion ring.

Labyrinth sealing device for improved drainage

A sealing device for a bearing unit having an axis of rotation and providing; a static component placed on a non-rotatable outer ring having a reinforcement support that abuts the outer ring and elastomeric material disposed on the reinforcement support, the elastomeric material forming first and second lips; a rigid shield configured for placement on one of a rotatable hub and a rotatable inner ring; the first and second lips have an equilibrium position where they do not contact the metallic shield; the elastomeric material forming a third lip that contacts the rigid shield to form an internal volume of the sealing device, the second lip and the rigid shield define a labyrinth seal in communication with the internal volume; the second lip, does not extend a full three hundred sixty degrees around the axis of rotation. This creates a channel for drainage of contaminants from the internal volume.

Seal assembly for sealing an axial gap between components

A seal assembly extends along an axis and seals an axial (and/or radial) gap between a first component and a second component. The seal assembly includes a seal carrier and a seal element. The seal element extends axially (and/or radially) between a first portion and a second portion. The first portion of the seal element is slidingly arranged within a slot in an axial end (or a radial side) of the seal carrier. The second portion of the seal element is configured to axially (and/or radially) engage the second component.

ROTARY SEALS

A rotary seal comprises includes a first annular element, a second annular element and a seal element. The first annular element has a first axially extending flange and a first radially extending flange extending radially from a proximal end of the first axially extending flange. The second annular element has a second axially extending flange and a second radially extending flange extending radially from a proximal end of the second axially extending flange in the same direction as the first radially extending flange. The second annular element is fixed to the first annular element, the second axially-extending flange being received radially on the first axially-extending flange. The second radially extending flange is spaced axially from the first radially extending flange to define a pocket therebetween.

Component Assembly for a Motor Vehicle

A component assembly for a motor vehicle includes a housing and an actuating element that is rotatable about an axis. The assembly also includes an actuator which is configured to cause rotation of the actuating element. The assembly further includes a rotatable shaft which extends along a shaft axis and is disposed between the actuating element and the actuator and which is coupled to the actuating element and the actuator. The shaft is guided through a first through opening in the housing. A sealing system which seals a first end of the first through opening in relation to a second end, facing away from the first end, of the first through opening against liquid media passing through is provided in a radial direction that is perpendicular to the shaft axis so as to be between the shaft and a first internal wall of the first through opening. The sealing system has a first sealing element having a second through opening through which the shaft is guided. The first sealing element has a radially inward-pointing first internal side as well as a radially outward-pointing first external side. The first sealing element by way of the first internal side in a sealing manner encircles a shaft external side of the shaft. A first material of the first sealing element largely comprises polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).

MIXING DEVICE COMPRISING A SEAL

A mixing device includes a mixing container for receiving mixing material and a mixer cover, wherein a first seal and a second seal is provided between the mixing container and the mixer cover. The first seal and the second seal are so arranged that a first air space is formed between the first seal and the second seal.

CARBON SEAL ASSEMBLY

A seal assembly having: a carbon ring annularly extending about a central axis and having an outer face, and a shrink band annularly extending about the central axis, the shrink band having an inner face, the inner face in contact with the outer face of the carbon ring at a contact interface defined therebetween, the inner face of the shrink band protruding axially beyond the contact interface.

Axial face seal assembly with outwardly-biased backing rings

A seal assembly for sealing between first and second tubular members includes an annular seal body disposeable within an annular gland between the tubular members and formed of a generally compressible polymeric material. The seal body has a first axial sealing surface disposed against a first tubular member end surface, a second axial sealing member disposeable against a second tubular member end surface and a recess(es) defined partially by an angled activation surface. An annular backing ring formed of a substantially rigid material is disposed the body recess to couple the backing ring with the seal body. The backing ring has an outer axial end disposeable against the first member end surface to prevent radially outward displacement of the portions of the seal at the first member end surface and is biased axially toward the first member end surface when compression of the seal body displaces the activation surface axially.

ROLLING-ELEMENT BEARING ASSEMBLY

A rolling-element bearing assembly includes first and second bearing rings that form a bearing interior between them and a plurality of rolling elements disposed in the bearing interior and a seal assembly for sealing the bearing interior. The seal assembly includes a seal carrier and a seal element having at least one primary seal lip for sealing the bearing interior and a secondary seal lip for sealing against external contamination. The seal element is connected to the seal carrier such that the primary seal lip and the secondary seal lip abut axially against an axial end surface of the second bearing ring.

SEAL DEVICE
