PRESSURE REGULATION VALVE
A pneumatic pressure regulation valve comprising: a valve inlet; a valve outlet; a piston arranged to control gas flow from the inlet to the outlet; a sense line fluidly connecting the inlet to a pressure regulation chamber and with a pressure relief valve connected thereto to limit the pressure in the pressure regulation chamber; wherein the piston is arranged between the pressure regulation chamber and the valve outlet such that the position of the piston is determined by the relative pressures in the regulation chamber and the valve outlet and the position of the piston controls the flow from the valve inlet to the valve outlet; wherein the sense line comprises a flow restriction upstream of the pressure relief valve. The flow restriction addresses instability that can arise from large volumes of connecting tubes or pipes in the sense line.
Valves
A valve comprising: a valve body; and a valve stem disposed at least partially within the valve body, the valve stem comprising a sidewall defining a central lumen and at least one opening in the sidewall, wherein the valve is adapted to prevent fluid flow through the lumen when the at least one opening is disposed within the valve body and permit fluid flow through the lumen when the at least one opening is exposed from the valve body, and wherein the valve is essentially free of a spring.
Valve position sensing using acoustics
A method and system for determining a position of a linearly translating member. The method may comprise transmitting an excitation into a linearly translating member through one or more couplers from an acoustic device disposed in an outer housing, recording a reflected excitation from the linearly translating member with the acoustic device, and identifying a position of the linearly translating member with respect to the acoustic device. The system may comprise an outer housing, a linearly translating member disposed within the outer housing, an acoustic device disposed in the outer housing and configured to transmit an excitation at various frequencies and various amplitudes and record returned excitation frequencies and amplitudes and time of travel, and an information handling system in communication with the acoustic device.
VALVE INCLUDING AN EXPANDABLE METAL SEAL
The present disclosure, in at least one aspect, provides a valve, a method for sealing, and a related well system. The valve, in one aspect, includes a housing, and a sliding sleeve disposed in the housing and defining an annular flow path between the sliding sleeve and the housing, the sliding sleeve configured to move from a closed positioned closing the annular flow path to an open position opening the flow path. The valve, in at least one other aspect, further includes a plug member positioned within the annular flow path, the plug member comprising a metal configured to expand in response to hydrolysis to seal the annular flow path.
SLIDE VALVE
A valve comprising a slidable internal shuttle that is shiftable between a valve closed and a valve open configuration is provided. The valve can be configured so that minimal force is required to effect shifting of the shuttle, even though the valve can be of a large diameter. In the valve closed configuration, the shuttle blocks communication between the valve inlet and outlet. Sliding of the shuttle to the valve open configuration permits fluid to flow through the valve. The shuttle can be configured with internal surfaces that provide some or no biasing forces acting upon the shuttle in the valve closed direction.
Shape memory alloy thermostat for subsea equipment
A system, in certain embodiments, includes an SMA thermostat. The SMA thermostat includes a body, a sleeve, a biasing spring and an SMA spring. Upon actuation of the SMA spring at a phase transition temperature, the sleeve is configured to shift and expose flow ports formed in the body.
POSITION SENSOR FOR A FLUID FLOW CONTROL DEVICE
A device for controlling the flow of a fluid through a conduit from an upstream side of the device to a downstream side of the device. The device includes a valve housing having defined therein a valve aperture, a valve member movably mounted relative to the valve aperture. The valve member is arranged to be displaced reciprocally in a direction to selectively open and close the valve aperture. The device also includes a magnet mounted on or relative to the valve member, with the magnet being displaced by displacement of the valve member. A plurality of magnetic field sensors are mounted on the valve housing.
Flow Control Valve, a Method of Assembly, and a Hydraulic System
An example valve includes a housing, a sleeve disposed within the housing and having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, and the sleeve includes a plurality of sleeve protrusions at the first end and a plurality of fluid flow channels are formed between adjacent sleeve protrusions, a seal carrier disposed within the sleeve and having a carrier protrusion that extends from the second end of the sleeve and abuts against an interior surface of the housing, and an end cap mounted to the housing such that the plurality of sleeve protrusions abut against the end cap.
Self modulating valve
A fluid valve is provided including an inner shell and an outer shell. The inner shell includes a sidewall having a first opening and an interior surface defining an inner chamber. The outer shell includes a sidewall having a second opening and an exterior surface defining an outer chamber. The inner shell is positioned within the outer shell and the inner shell is movable relative to the outer chamber between a first position and a second position by a change in fluid conditions of a fluid supplied to the fluid valve. The first opening and the second opening overlap to define a passageway extending from the interior surface of the inner shell to the exterior surface of the outer shell. Relative movement of the inner shell from the first position toward the second position reduces a cross-sectional area of the passageway.
ZERO DEAD LEG VALVE
A valve having a body having a first section and a second section; an extended flange attached to the second section of the body or disposed as an integral part of the second section of the body; an elongate bore extending through the body and having a proximal end and a distal end; a longitudinally displaceable plunger disposed in and extending along the bore, the plunger having a proximal end and a distal end and having a first position displaced toward the distal end of the bore and a second position displaced toward the proximal end of the bore; a diaphragm seal attached to the proximal end of the plunger and sealing the bore at the proximal end thereof; a gland seal sealing the bore at a location intermediate the diaphragm seal and the distal end of the bore; the plunger extending through and being sealingly secured to the gland seal; a fluid transfer opening in the bore between the diaphragm seal and the gland seal; longitudinal displacement of the plunger moving the diaphragm seal to open the bore, the gland seal stretching to accommodate the displacement of and maintain a seal about the plunger, a fluid flow path being established between the open proximal end of the bore and the fluid transfer opening, wherein longitudinal displacement of the plunger towards its first position moves the diaphragm to open the bore. The valve further comprises an extended flange having a surface that is approximately coplanar with a surface of the second position when the plunger is displaced toward the proximal end of the bore, creating a zero dead leg position
