Non-pressure relieving ball valve
A non-pressure relieving ball valve that includes: a stem connected to a handle regulating flow of pressurized fluid entering in the ball valve, a ball coupled to the stem and configured to control flow of the pressurized fluid through the ball valve, a seat abutting the ball to retain the in place, a sealing gasket provided in the ball valve and configured to restrict the flow of the pressurized fluid through the ball valve when the ball valve is in a closed position, and a slotted ring configured to be fitted in the ball valve between the seat and the sealing gasket. The slotted ring is adapted to permit ingress of pressurized fluid in slots defined on the slotted ring to enable balancing of fluid pressures on either side of the seat.
PLUG VALVE HARD SEALS ON CYLINDER WALL
A rotary valve includes a valve body including an opening formed therein, a rotary component received within the opening of the valve body with the rotary component configured to rotate relative to the valve body about an axis of rotation thereof, and a sealing assembly including a hard sealing structure and a soft sealing structure disposed between the valve body and the rotary component. The hard sealing structure is formed from a substantially rigid material and is configured to sealingly engage the rotary component. The soft sealing structure is formed from a resiliently deformable material and is configured to sealingly engage the hard sealing structure and the valve body.
VALVE ASSEMBLY
The disclosure relates to valve assemblies having a valve body including a first port, a second port and a fluid passageway extending therebetween. A valve member, having a through port, is arranged in the fluid passageway and is moveable between an open and closed positions. A sealing arrangement is arranged between the first port and the valve member and includes a sealing member arranged to seal against the valve member such that fluid cannot flow around an outer surface of the valve member. The sealing arrangement includes a sleeve arranged in the fluid passageway between the first port and the valve member. A deformable, incompressible, medium is contained around the sleeve and arranged such that, in use, a fluid within the sleeve exerts an outward pressure on the sleeve causing the sleeve to deform and act on the medium to push the sealing member against the valve member.
Sealing assembly for ball valves and ball valve comprising such a sealing assembly
The present invention relates to sealing valves used in the petroleum and gas extraction industry, in particular but not exclusively, to medium- or high-pressure ball valves. In particular, the present invention relates to a sealing assembly (101, 102) for ball valves (1), and to a ball valve comprising such an improved sealing assembly. The sealing assembly ensures excellent sealing performance at low and high pressures by exclusively using a thermoplastic material sealing element (31), thus completely eliminating the drawbacks which afflict the sealing system of known type, in particular in relation to the reliability of the sealing elements made of elastomeric material.
VALVE DIAGNOSTIC AND PERFORMANCE SYSTEM
A ball valve is described for use in industrial plants. The valve includes: a valve body; a valve stem extending from the valve body through a valve gland, a valve-actuator interface flange, and an actuator flange; a first magnet and a second magnet mounted on the valve stem; a first hall-effect sensor aligned with the first magnet and mounted in the actuator flange; a second hall-effect sensor aligned with the second magnet; and an electronic control system in communication with the first hall-effect sensor and the second hall-effect sensor, the electronic control system configured to estimate torque exerted on the valve stem.
Seal assembly and fluid valve
A seal arrangement for a fluid valve has: a first sealing element configured to bear sealingly against a valve housing of the fluid valve; a second sealing element configured to bear sealingly against an adjustable, rotatable, valve body of the fluid valve; and an elastically deformable intermediate piece arranged, axially, between a first wall of the first sealing element, which faces the second sealing element, and a second wall of the second sealing element, which faces the first sealing element, so as to elastically space apart the first and second sealing elements. In at least one axial portion of the intermediate piece, an axial cross section of the intermediate piece has a first radial lateral surface and an opposite second radial lateral surface. The first radial lateral surface is convex and the second radial lateral surface is concave, planar or less convex than the first radial lateral surface.
FLOW CONTROL VALVE SEAL AND FLOW CONTROL VALVE DEVICE
To provide a flow control valve seal that is manufactured at a low cost, that makes wear damage of a rotor with which the flow control valve seal slidably contacts less, and that is superior in its low leak performance, low friction performance, and low wear performance. A seal (6) is installed in a flow control valve device (1) including a housing (2) having an introduction part (5) that receives a cooling water from an internal combustion engine, and a resin rotor (4) disposed in the housing (2) and having a spherical outer peripheral surface (4a), the rotor (4) being rotated relative to the housing (2). The seal (6) is disposed between the introduction part (5) and the rotor (4) in the housing (2) and slidably contacts with the outer peripheral surface (4a) of the rotor (4). The seal (6) is an injection molded body of a resin composition having injection-moldable fluororesin as a base resin. The fluororesin is at least one resin selected from among a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoro alkylvinyl ether copolymer resin, a tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene copolymer resin, and a tetrafluoroethylene-ethylene copolymer resin.
Self-relieving ball valve seat
A system, in certain embodiments, includes an annular ball valve seat including an annular spring, which biases the annular ball valve seat axially. More specifically, in certain embodiments, the annular ball valve seat includes a main body section, a lip section extending from the main body section, and a seat groove between the main body section and the lip section, wherein the first annular spring is disposed within the seat groove. A first leg of the annular spring biases the lip section in a first axial direction and a second leg of the annular spring biases the main body section in a second axial direction opposite the first axial direction. The annular ball valve seat is configured to be disposed within a ball valve, on either side of a ball of the ball valve. The particular design of the annular ball valve seat enables pressure within a body cavity of the ball valve to be self-relieving.
