20220065360 · 2022-03-03 ·

A ball valve with a ball rotatably mounted within the housing. The ball is rotatable between an opened configuration, in which fluid flows through the ball, and a closed configuration, in which a ball seat engages a housing seat to prevent fluid from flowing through the ball valve. The ball may include one or more biasing members that urge the ball seat away from the ball and toward the housing seat. An engaging face of the ball seat may have a spherical or toroidal shape and an engaging face of the housing seat may have a conical shape. The ball seat may have up to six degrees of freedom related to the ball when the ball is in the closed configuration and the ball valve under pressure.

Eccentric rotary valve

An eccentric rotary valve includes valve elements arranged symmetrically around the valve shaft axis, and valve element valve seats and valve body valve seats which are elliptic conical surfaces made of metal. Each valve element has an elliptic spherical surface, an elliptic conical surface, or a completely spherical surface to which one of the valve element valve seats is continuously and steplessly connected. The axes of the valve seats are offset from the valve shaft axis in the valve closing direction such that, when the valve shaft is rotated in the valve opening direction, the valve element valve seats instantly separate from the valve body valve seats. Flow regulating plates are disposed in the valve body between the valve elements to ensure smooth flow of fluid. Ribs are disposed on opposite sides of the valve shaft and forwardly, in the valve opening direction, of the respective valve elements.

CONTOURED INTEGRATED SEAT FOR BALL VALVE

Valves having seats and counterseats with various contours are provided. In one embodiment, a valve includes a body and a flow control assembly inside the body. The flow control assembly includes a ball, a seat installed on the ball, and a counterseat. The ball is rotatable between open and closed positions to control flow through the body and the seat and counterseat include mating surfaces that engage when the ball is in the closed position such that the seat seals against the counterseat along the mating surfaces. Further, the mating surface of the counterseat can be a concave surface, the mating surface of the seat can be a convex surface, and at least one of the mating surfaces can have a toroidal contour.

The disclosed embodiments relate to a valve assembly that includes a valve body that has a cavity having one or more seating surfaces, a ball body disposed within the valve body and configured to engage the one or more seating surfaces to form a seal, and an actuator configured to drive the ball body in a first axial direction along a central axis of the cavity to wedge the ball body against the one or more seating surfaces to form the seal, and where the actuator is configured to move the ball body in a second axial direction along the central axis to unseat the ball body and to rotate the ball body about the central axis between an open position and a closed position.

SEAT INSERT IN A BALL VALVE FOR CRYOGENIC APPLICATIONS

Systems and methods are disclosed that include providing a valve suitable for maintaining a seal and preventing fluid flow through the valve at cryogenic temperatures. The valve includes a valve body having a longitudinal axis along a flow path through the valve, a ball selectively rotatable within the valve body to selectively allow fluid flow through the valve, a seat formed within the valve body and comprising a cavity having an angled wall, and a seat insert at least partially disposed within the cavity and having a first sealing surface that forms a first sealing interface with the ball to prevent leakage through a first leakage path and a second sealing surface that forms a second sealing interface with the angled wall to prevent leakage through a second leakage path when the ball valve is selectively rotated to prevent fluid flow through the valve.

Four valve disc frictionless ball valve

A four valve disc frictionless ball valve includes a spherical valve core assembly, wherein the spherical valve core assembly includes a wedge-shaped valve core. A closed-position valve disc is respectively installed on a pair of closed-position wedge-shaped sides. A closed-position guide key is respectively arranged at the middle positions of the pair of closed-position wedge-shaped sides along an axial direction. A closed-position guide groove is arranged on each closed-position valve disc along the axial direction. An open-position valve disc is respectively installed on a pair of open-position wedge-shaped sides. An open-position guide key is respectively arranged at the middle positions of the pair of open-position wedge-shaped sides along the axial direction. An open-position guide groove is arranged on each open-position valve disc along the axial direction.

Ball valve with forced-sealing operation

The present disclosure relates to a DBB forced sealing valve and an operating mechanism, including a valve body, a valve seat, a valve core arranged in the valve body, upper sealing member driving part and lower sealing member driving part arranged in the valve body and located on either side of the valve core, and the sealing members arranged between the valve seats and the upper sealing member driving part and the lower sealing member driving part. Wherein, the upper sealing member driving part and the lower sealing member driving part can move along the rotation axis of the valve core, and the upper sealing member driving part and the lower sealing member driving part drive the sealing members to press against or to retract from the valve seats.

Bidirectional cryogenic firesafe floating ball valve

A firesafe bidirectional floating ball valve comprising: a housing; first and second annular seats that hold between them a ball that is rotatable to open and close the valve to fluid flow; an annular spring on one side of the ball that operates to seal both of the seats to the ball; and an annular ridge coaxial with the first seat; wherein with the valve closed, net pressure on the ball in a direction from the second fluid flow port to the first fluid flow port operates to displace the ball and apply force to the first annular seat that closes a narrow clearance space between the ball and the first annular seat.

LOW TORQUE RESIDENTIAL WATER SHUTOFF VALVE
20210116038 · 2021-04-22 · ·

A low pressure, low operating force valve, for applications where automated valves are used, having reduced power requirements for an associated actuator. A low torque ball valve of a fixed ball valve configuration for low to medium pressure applications, such as for an electric motor actuated residential shutoff valve where pressures are typically below 100 psi, and commonly less than 60 psi, for example. The valve can be open or shut using a smaller electric motor than would be required for a conventional residential floating ball shutoff valve of a similar size. As such, the power requirements of the electric motor or other actuator are reduced allowing for the use of smaller motors, smaller power supplies and overall more efficient operation.
