Circulation sub and method for using same
A circulation sub including a tubular and a diverter valve are configured to continuously circulate fluid into a drill string. The tubular has a first end connectable to the drill string, a second end connectable to a pipe segment, and a port. The tubular has a fluid path for allowing the fluid to flow from the pipe segment to the drill string and a circulation path for allowing the fluid to flow from the port to the drill string. The diverter valve has a channel in selective fluid communication with the fluid path. The diverter valve is positionable between a flow through position for selectively allowing the fluid to flow through the fluid path and a diversion position for selectively allowing the fluid to flow through the circulation path whereby the fluid may continuously flow through the drill string.
DOUBLE ACTION DIRECTION FLUID FLOW VALVE
A double action directional fluid flow valve includes a stepped piston connected with a poppet valve and moveable by a controller between open and closed positions by applying a continuous pressure to a small diameter piston face and selectively applying and removing pressure from a large diameter piston face to move the poppet valve between an open position and a closed position.
MECHANICALLY DRIVEN SEQUENCING MANIFOLD
The subject of this application is a sequencing manifold for the purpose of supplying control and supply services of pre-determined temporal sequences to fluid processing assemblies. The functioning of this sequencing manifold requires that translation be applied to the sequencing ports. Actuator mechanisms may supply such translation as either continuous motion or as a series of stepwise motions. Actuator mechanism can be obtained that rely on only mechanical means without the need for a source of electricity. With such actuators, it becomes feasible to conduct the operations of fluid processing assemblies in remote and primitive locations that lack a source of electricity. One skilled in the mechanical arts can provide various actuator mechanisms to meet these requirements.
The figures included below with the description of attributes are intended to convey an understanding of the mechanical principles underpinning the operation of the sequencing manifold. For reasons of clarity, the figures depict configurations involving apparently geometrically flat plates rather than more complex configurations involving cylinders or circular discs. The omission of configurations involving cylinder or discs from the figures included with this application is not meant to be limiting in any manner.
SWITCHING VALVE
Disclosed is a switching valve having a small contact resistance when a valve body moves along a seating surface of a housing. In a switching valve which includes a valve body, coming into contact with a seating surface of a housing having a plurality of ports and selectively communicating at least two ports of the plurality of ports, and applies a fluid pressure to a back surface of the valve body, the switching valve includes a biasing member configured for biasing the valve body in a direction in which the valve body is moved away from the seating surface of the housing.
Gas turbine exhaust diverter system duct guide rails
This gas turbine exhaust system provides a bypass duct having a gas inlet section capable of receiving the turbine exhaust gas, a first section for connection with an exhaust gas collector and a second section for connection with a heat collection boiler, detachable ducts respectively opened and closed, selectively fitted in the first and second sections, to operate the exhaust system in a simple cycle mode or in a combined cycle mode, and guide rails for guiding the ducts.
Articulated Seal Ring Assemblies
Valves with articulated seal ring assemblies are provided. In one embodiment, a valve includes a hollow body having an inlet port and an outlet port in fluid communication with an inner chamber of the hollow body, a piston disposed within the inner chamber of the hollow body, and an articulated seal ring assembly carried by the piston. The articulated seal ring assembly includes a shear seal ring that is seated against an interior surface within the hollow body and is coupled to the piston via a joint that facilitates pivoting of the shear seal ring with respect to the piston. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.
DIRECTIONAL GATE TYPE BLOCK VALVE
A directional gate type block valve includes a valve body, a gate type straddle, a transmission stem and four seats for process fluid sealing, wherein the transmission stem drives the gate type straddle allowing 3 position options for gate type straddle, directing or even completely sealing the system. This directional gate type block valve provides the exploration system the simplification of using only one equipment for directing the process fluid, besides allowing its use in a wide range of permissible working pressures. Other advantages due to its simple geometry are given by the low cost of manufacture, assembly and test of the directional gate type block valve.
Valves having protective coatings
A shear valve for use in a high performance liquid chromatography system. The shear valve includes a first valve member having a plurality of first fluid-conveying features, and a second valve member having one or more second fluid-conveying features. The second valve member is movable, relative to the first valve member, between a plurality of discrete positions such that, in each of the discrete positions, at least one of the one or more second fluid-conveying features overlaps with multiple ones of the first fluid conveying features to provide for fluid communication therebetween. At least one of the first and second valve members is at least partially coated with a protective coating that includes an adhesion interlayer and a diamond-like carbon (DLC) layer. The DLC layer is deposited on the adhesion interlayer via filtered cathodic vacuum arc (FCVA) deposition.
Feeding assembly to fill capsules or the like with at least two products, in particular pharmaceutical products, in granules
The bottom of a capsule is filled with at least two products contained in respective annular rotating containing tanks, which are mounted concentrically, and have a plurality of pairs of radially aligned filling holes; the filling holes of each pair of filling holes being associated with a relative closing device, which is selectively movable between a closing position of both filling holes, a first opening position of one of the two filling holes, and a second opening position of the other filling hole.
Energetic one way sequence termination valve
A method of sequencing a pyrotechnic system includes igniting at least one of a first energetic coupled to a first inlet of a one way sequence termination arrangement, and a second energetic coupled to a second inlet of the one way sequence termination arrangement, fluidically coupling the first inlet to an outlet of the one way sequence termination arrangement in response to the second energetic being ignited before the first energetic is ignited, and blocking fluidic coupling between the second inlet and the outlet in response to the first energetic being ignited before the second energetic is ignited.
