A valve stem lifter assembly which operates to alternatively open and close a valve, includes a rotatably mounted rotary shaft having a free end axially aligned with a pull shaft and an opposite free end axially aligned with an operator for selectively producing rotational movement of the rotary shaft and corresponding axial movement of the pull shaft. The rotary shaft is rotatably connected to a valve riser element by radius set screws positioned axially in the grooves of the rotary shaft. A plurality of guide shaft rods interconnects the riser to the valve stem lifter assembly to prevent axial separation of the riser and rotary shaft while permitting free relative rotation of the rotary shaft and linear movement of the pull shaft.

Shuttle Valve for Water Softener System and Method

Embodiments of the invention provide a piston assembly for a control valve in a water softener system. The control valve includes a drive mechanism, one or more fluid passageways, and a seal assembly. The piston assembly includes a main piston moveably received within the seal assembly and including a first end and a second end opposite to the first end, and a shuttle piston moveably received within the seal assembly. The shuttle piston includes a first end and a second end opposite to the first end, and is configured to selectively engage the second end of the main piston to form a seal therebetween and to selectively move relative to the second end of the main piston to form an opening between the second end of the main piston and the first end of the shuttle piston, in response to movement of the main piston.

An eclipse valve includes at least two reciprocating obturator plates captured in a sealed housing. The obturator plates fill the width of a cavity within the housing and can be moved between aligned and unaligned positions. Each of the obturator plates have an opening through the plate, and when the obturator plates are aligned, the openings through the plates are aligned with each other, and with front and rear openings in the housing, allowing flow through the valve. The plates can be moved to reduce the overlap of the openings through the plates within the housing in an eclipse manner to adjust the rate or amount of flow, and to shut off flow by completely un-aligning the openings.

An exemplary valve control system includes a master controller that wirelessly communicates with a plurality of slave controllers. The slave controllers are each associated with respective devices and sensors. In exemplary arrangements a valve slave controller is associated with a motor that controls a condition of a valve. An exemplary control valve includes a valve body with a plurality of ports (A, B, C, D, E, F) and a plurality of annular flow passages. A piston is selectively movable within a bore within the valve body through operation of the motor and valve slave controller. The valve slave controller is selectively operative to control the position of the piston so as to selectively enable liquid flow through the valve.

A control valve (10) includes a valve body with a plurality of ports (A, B, C, D, E, F) and a plurality of annular flow passages (53, 55, 57). A piston (34) which includes a plurality of annular flow passages and a longitudinal flow passage is selectively movable within a bore (32) within the valve body through operation of a valve controller (70). The valve controller is selectively operative to control the position of the piston so as to enable liquid flow through a plurality of flow paths. The valve controller further includes a installable and removable valve controller housing (74) which is releasibly engageable with a valve base (72). The valve may include a changeable multi-piece piston and changeable injector and plug components to adapt the valve to different flow and fluid mixing requirements.
