Quick connect assembly including for use in pressurized fluid applications and incorporating auto shut-off feature
09534720 · 2017-01-03 ·

A quick connect assembly having a female fitting attached to an end of a first fluid coupling and exhibiting an interior passage defined by a plurality of linearly extending and circumferentially spaced fingers. Undersides of said fingers collectively define a concentric concave profile an inwardly recessed distance from a connecting end. A male fitting attaches to an end of a second fluid coupling and includes an annular projection at an intermediate location generally matching the concave profile. Upon inserting the male fitting, the female fingers outwardly deflect, following which they inwardly retract concurrent with the projection seating within the interior concave profile. A covering cap is supported upon the male fitting and, upon displacing over projecting ends of the fingers, prevents inadvertent disengagement of the fittings.

NON-DISCONNECTING ROTATABLE CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY

A connector including a housing having a first end and second end opposite the first end, the housing having an interior space, a luer assembly disposed within the interior space of the housing, the luer assembly having a locking ring and the luer assembly configured to couple to a coupling device to secure the coupling device to the connector, and a sleeve at least partially disposed around the luer assembly and disposed within the interior space, the sleeve configured to couple to the locking ring to prevent axial movement of the sleeve relative to the luer assembly and the housing. The housing being rotatable to the luer assembly and the sleeve when the sleeve is coupled to the locking ring to prevent decoupling of the luer assembly from the coupling device when the luer assembly is coupled to the coupling device.

A quick coupler assembly includes a female body having an internal channel between a first end and a second end. An outer shell is coupled to and partially encloses the female body and is movable between the first and second ends. A male body includes a protrusion that extends from a platform and defines an internal flow channel therethrough. The protrusion is configured to removably engage the internal channel of the female body to define a single open channel through the assembly. The assembly includes a means for locking the protrusion in the female body, and another means for releasing the protrusion from the female body. The releasing means may be activated by a one-quarter turn of the outer shell relative to the male body in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction.

The present disclosure provides a female connector and a connector assembly. The female connector includes a female connector shell and a snap-fit fastener. The retaining portion is elastically deformable and the retaining portion and the locking portion are configured to enter the receiving channel through the retaining channel and the locking channel, respectively, wherein the snap-fit fastener has a first position and a second position, and is movable between the first position and the second position in a radial direction of the female connector shell. The retaining portion is configured to elastically deform under the action of the male connector to provide a force that drives the snap-fit fastener to move from the first position to the second position. The snap-fit fastener in the first position can move to the second position only after the male connector and the female connector are fixed, so that it is possible to visually determine whether the male connector and the female connector are fixed.

Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for purposes of providing a single-use, aseptic disconnection functionality that substantially prevents fluid spillage when being disconnected. In some embodiments, the coupling portions cannot be functionally reconnected to each other after being disconnected from each other. Some fluid coupling device embodiments described herein include a fluid flow path that is a metallic-free. Moreover, some embodiments of the fluid coupling devices provided herein include no metal whatsoever. That is, the fluid coupling devices are entirely metal-free.

Aseptic junction device for a tube

An aseptic junction device for a tube includes a tubular insert having a first end segment and a second end segment, an annular body mounted on the second end segment of the insert, and an annular sealing element. A maneuvering sleeve is rotatably mounted between a connection position and a disconnection position, and is coupled to the insert so that a rotation of the sleeve from the connection position to the disconnection position leads an axial movement of the body from a projecting position to a flush position. A coupling is arranged to allow decoupling of the junction device and another junction device, only when the sleeve is in the disconnection position.

Snap-Locking Connector

The present invention discloses a snap-locking connector, which includes a locking block, a connecting sleeve, an upper housing assembly, a locking snap ring, and a lower housing assembly. An upper valve core is elastically arranged in the upper housing assembly, with a first sealing ring provided on the upper valve core. A push rod and a lower valve core are provided in the lower housing assembly, with the lower valve core sleeved on the outer side wall of one side of the push rod, and a second sealing ring arranged on the push rod. In this invention, the upper housing assembly compresses the lower housing assembly and the push rod abuts against the upper valve core. The locking block snaps into the upper housing assembly for position fixation, and the locking snap ring further secures the locking block. This design ensures a sealed connection between the upper and lower housing assemblies, with the push rod tightly abutting the upper valve core without any gap, while also preventing the locking block from unintentionally unlocking. For disassembly, the locking snap ring is loosened, the locking block is moved, and the upper housing assembly automatically pops out. At the same time, the sealing rings seal the connected area, achieving leak-free disassembly.
