The pipeline plug includes a pressure head coupled to the plug body, a seal assembly, a gripper assembly, a movable head, and an actuation mechanism. The actuation mechanism includes a leadscrew, the leadscrew coupled to the movable head. The actuation mechanism includes a captive nut, the captive nut positioned within the pressure vessel. The actuation mechanism includes a motor, the motor operatively coupled to the captive nut and adapted to rotate the captive nut.

A foreign material exclusion device that is adapted to seal an area of a construction, such as a tube or pipe or other cavity, from foreign material or debris temporarily, wherein the device includes a cylindrical plug that has a plurality of resilient bodies for holding the device within a particular construction. The bodies are substantially planar, and semicylindrical in shape wherein two bodies are utilized. A flexible cover includes a first pouch which contains a first body therein and desirably a second pouch of the cover contains a second body therein, with the cover having a hinge between said first and second pouches. When the device is not in use, the bodies can be folded against one another in a closed position until they are inserted into a tube or pipe whereupon they can be opened to an open position and generally form a disk having a snug, fitted connection with a wall of the tube or pipe.

A modular isolation robot includes a motor configured to drive at least a first wheel, wherein the first wheel is configured to contact an interior surface of a pipe. A tool for intervention on the wall of a fluid pipe, comprising a duct segment through which the fluid is intended to flow when the tool is in the pipe, and at least first and second modules for creating seals between the wall of the pipe and the duct segment, to isolate the fluid circulating in an outer part of a section of the pipe, between the first and second seal creation modules.

The tool includes motorized rollers for moving the tool in the pipe and a module for determining the location of the tool in the pipe.
