Safety valve

A safety valve includes: a valve element; a valve seat that has a gas release hole from which a gas is released and a protrusion that protrudes towards the valve element; and a meltable body that is made of a material capable of being melt at an abnormal high temperature. At a temperature other than the abnormal high temperature, the meltable body limits displacement of the valve element to thereby prevent inflow of the gas towards the gas release hole. At the abnormal high temperature, the meltable body is melt, thereby the valve element is displaced and the gas is released from the gas release hole.

System for Storing a Pressurized Gas and Method for Emptying a Storage Container for a Pressurized Gas

A system for storing a pressurized gas in a motor vehicle is provided, having a storage container and at least one thermally activatable safety valve for emptying the storage container. The safety valve activates automatically at a corresponding high temperature. The storage container has an additional activatable emptying device, which has an interface for an external energy source. The interface can be connected to the external energy source in order to empty the storage container in a targeted manner. Also provided is a method for emptying a storage container for a pressurized gas in a motor vehicle.

The valve structure of the hydrogen tank includes a valve body mounted on a base of the hydrogen tank and having a first communication passage communicating with the inside of the hydrogen tank, and a fusible plug valve mounted on the valve body via a spacer. The spacer has a second communication passage communicating with the first communication passage and a discharge port provided on an outer wall of the spacer. The second communication passage and the discharge port are shut off by the valve body when the fusible plug valve is closed, and communicate with each other when the fusible plug valve is opened. The discharge port is provided on an outer wall of the spacer other than an outer wall that contacts the valve body and an outer wall that contacts the fusible plug valve.
