Compressed natural gas vehicle safety system and method
A multiply-redundant system that prevents a driver from starting and/or moving a vehicle if a compressed natural gas fill system is not correctly and completely disconnected from the vehicle. One or more sensors in combination with one or more optional microswitches combine to lock-out the vehicle's ignition or otherwise prevent it from starting and/or moving. For different levels of safety, different combinations of sensors can be used with the lowest level having a single proximity sensor sensing the presence or absence of a high-pressure fill hose. The highest level of safety being achieved by having separate proximity sensors on the fuel fill hose fitting, the gas cap cover and a manual safety valve along with a redundant microswitch. An optional override that may be restricted as to the number of times it can be used can allow starting with a faulty sensor in order to allow maintenance.
FUEL TANK FITTINGS, VEHICLES AND FUELING STATIONS INCLUDING THE SAME, AND RELATED METHODS
This disclosure includes fuel tank fittings, fuel systems and fueling stations having the same, and related methods. Some fuel tank fittings have a first end including a connector configured to be sealingly coupled to an outlet of a fuel tank, wherein the connector has a connection axis, a second end including two or more first ports, each positioned such that the connection axis does not extend therethrough, a first interior passageway extending from the connector, and two or more second interior passageways connecting the first interior passageway to the first ports such that, for each of the first ports, fluid is permitted to flow from the connector, through the first interior passageway, through one or more of the second interior passageways, and out of the first port without flowing through a valve.
CONNECTING ELEMENT FOR GAS CYLINDERS
Disclosed is a connecting element for connecting a device or apparatus to a gas cylinder provided with coupling element including at least one external thread, the connecting element including a body with a hollow cylindrical section provided with an internal thread adapted for joining with the external thread of the gas cylinder, an annular gasket, an annular seat adapted for housing the gasket, the seat including at least one perimeter surface on which the gasket rests. The body includes one or more bleed channels, each with a first end that opens on to the perimeter surface of the seat of the gasket and a second end that opens on to an outer surface of the body so that the bleed channel places the seat of the gasket in communication with the external atmosphere.
Device for providing fluid under pressure
A device for supplying pressurized fluid including a pressurized fluid cylinder, at least one first tap connected to the pressurized fluid cylinder, the tap including an internal fluid circuit including an isolation valve, the device including an electronic apparatus for the wireless remote communication of data via electromagnetic waves, the electronic communication apparatus including a communication element designed to communicate wirelessly using at least one of the following frequency-modulation and/or phase-modulation low-consumption and long-range communication technologies: LoRa communication technology, communication technology from Sigfox, where the device includes a protective cap mounted on the cylinder in order to protect the first tap and a second tap connected detachably to the first tap, and the electronic communication apparatus being situated either on the cylinder, on the cap, on the first tap, or on the second tap.
Carbonation machine and a gas canister for a carbonation machine
A carbonation machine may include a carbonation head, a holder that is configured to hold a gas canister, the holder comprising a connector with a socket configured to enable linear insertion of a valve of the canister into the socket, the socket including a seal with at least one lateral opening to enable fluidic flow between one or more laterally oriented ports of the valve and a conduit of the holder while preventing leakage of gas from the fluidic flow, and a holding mechanism configured to hold a lateral projection from the canister after insertion of the valve into the socket such that the valve remains in the socket, and an activation mechanism configured to operate the valve to release the gas from the canister when inserted into the socket so as to enable the gas to flow via the conduit to the carbonation head.
Portable carbon dioxide adapter system
The present disclosure discloses a portable carbon dioxide adapter system. The system includes a first collar assembly for connecting to a liquid carbon dioxide source; a gasifying/flow adjusting assembly that converts liquid carbon dioxide into gaseous carbon dioxide and may adjust gas flow; an injection nozzle valve assembly that abuts against a gas inflow valve of a gas-injection-by-adapter object so as to inject the gaseous carbon dioxide; and a second collar assembly with one end slidably receiving the injection nozzle valve assembly and the other end being securely connected to the gasifying/flow adjusting assembly. The liquid carbon dioxide source is a disposable carbon dioxide gas cylinder, and an opening unit for piecing the disposable carbon dioxide gas cylinder is mounted within the first collar assembly; and the gasifying/flow adjusting assembly has a volume-adjustable hollow inner cavity configuration.
LNG nozzle safety locking mechanism
The present invention relates to a coupling for a connecting a LNG nozzles to a LNG vehicle tank receptacle and their connection apparatus to a LNG vehicle tank for fueling. The invention comprises a double connection system to provides additional safety to a LNG Nozzle Locking Mechanism for being locked into a LNG receptacle on a vehicle tank, by combining two different locking mechanisms: one the so-called collet type locking mechanism with the locking handles, and two the valved receptacle and valved nozzle approach with the rotating handle.
Natural gas hydrate tank container loading system enabling self-powered power generation and boil-off gas treatment
The present disclosure relates to a natural gas hydrate tank container loading system for transporting natural gas hydrate, and the present disclosure provides a natural gas hydrate tank container loading system, enabling self-powered power generation and boil-off (BOG) gas treatment, includes: a refrigerator for inhibiting the generation of boil-off gas which naturally generates in a natural gas hydrate tank container during transportation; and a solar cell, a battery, and a generator, which operates by means of the boil-off gas, for supplying electric power to the refrigerator, thereby ensuring a generation capacity sufficient to operate the refrigerator by means of the solar cell, the generator, and the battery, and thus always maintaining a stable phase equilibrium (self-preservation) in the natural gas hydrate tank container even during long-distance transportation and solving problems of fire, environmental pollution, or the like which occur when the boil-off gas (BOG) is discharged to the outside.
EXTERNAL FUEL METERING VALVE WITH SHUTTLE MECHANISM
A handheld combustion powered fastening tool may include a driving system that drives fasteners into workpieces in response to combustion of fuel by the driving system. A fuel delivery system may supply fuel to the driving system. The fuel delivery system may include a fuel canister storing liquid fuel, such as liquid hydrocarbons such as propane, and a fuel metering valve supplying a previously set amount, or volume, of fuel from the fuel canister to the driving system for combustion.
VALVE WITH INTERCHANGEABLE OUTLET CONNECTIONS FOR HIGH PURITY GASES
A valve is disclosed with a clamp mechanism that accepts interchangeable outlet connections. The interchangeable outlook connections may have different sealing geometries, where different sealing geometries are specified to be used with different gases.
