SYSTEM FOR STORING COMPRESSED GAS AND METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
A gas storage system for storing compressed gas, and method for constructing the system, are described. The system includes a borehole having a first borehole portion and a second borehole portion. An inflatable balloon is arranged within the second borehole portion. An upper support member, mounted on top of the inflatable balloon, is configured for anchoring the inflatable balloon to a sealing material filling the first borehole portion. A lower support member is arranged at the bottom of the inflatable balloon. The system includes an inlet gas pipe for filling the inflatable balloon from the gas compressing system and an outlet gas pipe for releasing the compressed gas. A compacted filling material is placed within a gap formed between the inflatable balloon, the upper support member, the lower support member, and an inner surface of the second borehole portion. One or more filling material pipes extend along the borehole to the gap for providing a filling material thereto.

Controlled Nitrogen Blanketing Systems
An underground storage tank maintenance system includes a system of monitors to determine pressure and humidity in the system. Inert gas may be supplied into the ullage of the tank. The inert gas may first pass through an interstitial space as between the primary storage and secondary containment, and then passed into ullage to capture contaminants on the way out of the vent to atmosphere. The system and method prevent hydrocarbons exiting to atmosphere. Humidify sensors may be set along vent to determine water contamination and trigger drying cycles. Pressure readings help identify system leaks.
Monolithically poured concrete CNG tank with internal support columns
A method of forming a polymer concrete CNG tank by forming an inflatable liner member composed of high density polymer impermeable to CNG; providing column forms as part of the liner member, the column forms having open tops and open bottoms and extending completely through the liner member; providing an outer form; positioning the liner member within the outer form with the column forms vertically oriented, the liner member being positioned to provide a gap between the liner member and the outer form; inflating the liner member; pouring polymer concrete about the liner member and through the column forms; and allowing the polymer concrete to cure. Reinforcement members may be positioned around the liner member and within the column forms prior to the step of pouring the polymer concrete.
