12129969 · 2024-10-29 · ·

An apparatus, system, and method for temporary fluid commodity transfer stations. A fluid commodity transfer structure can include a base member, a casing, and a fluid commodity transfer system. The fluid commodity transfer system can be configured to dispense a commodity for transloading from opposite sides of the fluid commodity transfer structure. A modular fueling station system can include one or more receptacles operably coupled to a fluid commodity transfer structure to allow a fluid commodity transfer system to utilize each receptacle as a fuel reservoir. The fluid commodity transfer structure can be loaded onto an intermodal transport vehicle, unloaded at a location, deposited at the location, and be operably coupled with one or more receptacles and/or other fluid commodity transfer structures to provide fueling infrastructure for fleet vehicles or allow for the commercial transfer of fluid from one receptable to another as a mobile fluid transfer system.

A high pressure tank having a reinforced boss part includes: a liner; a dome formed at each end of the liner; and a boss formed at one end of the dome. The boss includes: a head including a flow path through which fuel flows into and out of the high pressure tank; and a shoulder extending in a radial direction from the head and surrounding the head. The shoulder has one or more hollow portions formed therein.

PRESSURE VESSEL INCLUDING PROJECTIONS

A pressure vessel includes a hollow body including a body, a first end, and a second end. The body includes a cylindrical body wall and each of the first and second ends includes a convex, rounded end wall. Each of the first and second ends forms a first and second juncture, respectively, where each end wall meets the body wall. The pressure vessel further includes first and second projections adjacent to the first and second juncture, respectively, and a fiber wrap surrounding the wall of the body between the first and second projections.

Cryogenic Tank Assembly with a Pump Drive Unit Disposed Within Fluid Storage Vessel

A fluid storage and pressurizing assembly includes a storage receptacle and a pump assembly. The storage receptacle includes an inner vessel defining a cryogen space for storing a fluid at a storage pressure and a cryogenic temperature, an outer vessel surrounding the inner vessel, and an insulated space between the inner vessel and the outer vessel, and a pump assembly. The pump assembly includes a pump having an inlet disposed within the cryogen space for receiving a quantity of the fluid from the cryogen space, and an outlet for delivering the fluid therefrom, and a pump drive unit for driving the pump, the pump drive unit being at least partially disposed within a space defined by the storage receptacle

CRYOGENIC FLUID SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME
20180112826 · 2018-04-26 · ·

A cryogenic fluid system includes a vessel and a pumping system positioned for submerging within cryogenic fluid within the vessel. The pumping system includes an electric drive structured to move a pumping element within a pumping chamber to pump cryogenic fluid out of the vessel. A cooling jacket forms a heat exchange cavity about the electric drive such that heat is rejected externally of the storage vessel.

CRYOGENIC FLUID SYSTEM FOR MACHINE, AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME

A cryogenic fluid system such as a cryogenic fuel system for an engine includes a storage vessel, and a pumping mechanism with a pump positioned inside the storage vessel to be submerged in fluid stored therein. The system further includes a reciprocable pumping element operated by way of a drive mechanism including a rotatable driving element and a magnetic coupling operably between the rotatable driving element and the reciprocable pumping element.

LOW VOLUME NITROGEN SYSTEMS
20180106430 · 2018-04-19 ·

A system to maintain an inert ullage in a hydrocarbon tank. The system provides for outgassing/venting of ullage gases when a high pressure event is found within the tank. Further, when a low pressure event occurs, during fuel discharge or based on ambient conditions, a source of inert gas, such as nitrogen) supplies gas on-demand to the hydrocarbon tank via a pressure regulator (preferably along the venting system) to maintain both the pressure and inerting of the ullage. A method for maintaining the inert ullage is also provided, whereby a low pressure event triggers a supply of inert gas into the tank.

Transport of natural gas through solution in liquid hydrocarbon at ambient temperature
09939110 · 2018-04-10 ·

A method of transporting natural gas by liquefaction of natural gas at ambient temperature, achieved by mixing the natural gas at high pressure with a hydrocarbon that is a stable liquid at ambient temperature and ambient pressure. The hydrocarbon liquid may be crude oil or a distillate of crude oil. The method includes: liquefaction: mixing the natural gas with the hydrocarbon liquid at an ambient temperature and a high pressure to generate a liquid mixture, which contains the natural gas dissolved in the hydrocarbon liquid; shipping: transporting the liquid mixture using a marine tanker, during which the liquid mixture is maintained at ambient temperature and the high pressure; and regasification: at the destination, releasing a gas from the liquid mixture by lowering the pressure of the liquid mixture. The hydrocarbon liquid may be used multiple times.

Welded nozzle for a tank car
12151718 · 2024-11-26 · ·

A tank for a railway tank car includes an outer tank, a nozzle, a fittings plate, and a set of pipes. The nozzle protrudes through the outer tank such that an outer edge of the nozzle extends past an exterior surface of the outer tank. An intersection between the nozzle and the outer tank defines an opening in the outer tank. The fittings plate is welded to the nozzle around the outer edge of the nozzle. The set of pipes pass through the fittings plate and into the outer tank through the nozzle. The set of pipes includes pipes to load and/or unload fluid from the tank.
