DIMMING CAP FOR A LAMP WITH TWO SEPARATE RADIATION SOURCES
20180180237 · 2018-06-28 ·

The invention refers to a dimming cap for a lamp with two separate radiation sources and, in particular, for a two-filament incandescent lamp, which has a concave shape with a base surface from which a circumferential side wall extends at least to a height H.sub.0 above the base surface, wherein the dimming cap, in a cross section formed at a height H.sub.0 parallel to the base surface, has a width (w.sub.0) that is constant within a tolerance of 0.1 mm over a first longitudinal section of the dimming cap, and which decreases over a second longitudinal section extending from the first longitudinal section to a first end of the dimming cap, and the height of the sidewall corresponds within a tolerance of 0.1 mm over the first longitudinal section to the constant height H.sub.0, wherein it increases over the second longitudinal section, wherein the first longitudinal section is between 70% and 98% of the length of the dimming cap in the cross-section formed at the height H.sub.0. The invention further refers to a lamp with such a dimming cap.

Double-filament incandescent lamp for automotive vehicle front lighting

A lamp for automotive vehicle front lighting is described. The lamp 10 comprises a base 12 for mechanical and electrical connection to an automotive headlight 50 and a burner 14 fixed to the base 12. The burner 14 comprises an enclosed transparent vessel 22. A first and a second filament 34, 36 are arranged within the vessel 22. A baffle 40 is arranged proximate to the first filament 34 to shield the second filament 36 from the first filament 34. When the first filament 34 is operated at a supply voltage of 13.2 V at an electrical power greater than 35 W and less than or equal to 38 W, light with a luminous flux of 500-700 lm is emitted from the lamp 10. If the second filament 36 is operated at a supply voltage of 13.2 V at an electrical power greater than 35 W and less than or equal to 38 W, light with a luminous flux of 800-1,000 lm is emitted from the lamp 10. Both the first and the second filament wire 34, 36 are comprised of a filament wire wound in a winding structure around a filament axis, where the number of winding turns for each of first and second filaments 34, 36 is 16-23.

Lamp and headlighting arrangement for obtaining a color appearance in an automotive headlight

A lamp 10 is described which may be used in an automotive headlight 12. The lamp 10 comprises at least one filament 20 within a transparent lamp vessel 16. A color filter portion 30 is provided through which light is emitted with a color change. The lamp vessel 16 further comprises a color transparent portion, through which light is emitted without a color change. The color transparent portion is arranged such that an illumination beam of light 40 is emitted through the color transparent portion to achieve a non-colored illumination. The color filter portion 30 is arranged such that only peripheral and/or scattered portions of light are emitted through the color filter portion to achieve a color appearance of the headlight 12 in operation of the lamp 10.

Automotive front lighting lamp with baffle

A lamp for automotive vehicle front lighting is described. The lamp 10 comprises a base 12 for mechanical and electrical connection to an automotive headlight 50 and a burner 14 fixed to the base 12. The burner 14 comprises an enclosed transparent vessel 22. A first and a second filament 34, 36 are arranged within the vessel 22. A baffle 40 is arranged proximate to the first filament 34 to shield the second filament 36 from the first filament 34. The baffle 40 is of concave shape and includes a bottom surface 41 and side surfaces 45 terminating in side edges 48. The baffle 40 further includes a front surface 43 arranged between the first and second filaments 34, 36 to shield the second filament 36 from light emitted from the first filament 34. The side edges 48 each comprise a central portion 54 extending, in side view, straight and in parallel to the longitudinal axis X. The straight central portions 54 have an axial length of at least 3.5 mm. An edge height H.sub.E is defined as a distance between the bottom surface 41 and the plane defined between the central portions 54 of the side edges 48. The edge height is more than 2.8 mm.

HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY

A vehicle headlamp assembly is provided herein. The headlamp assembly includes a housing including a transmissive portion on a first end and a reflector on an opposing end. The housing also defines an interior cavity. A first light source is configured to emit a first, lower intensity wavelength of light and a second, higher intensity wavelength of light and is disposed within the cavity. A second light source is configured to emit the first and the second wavelengths of light are also disposed within the cavity.
