Self-contained junction box
A lighting structure includes a junction box that has a cavity, and a mounting plate that has an inner section and a perimeter section. The junction box is attached to the mounting plate, and the mounting plate has a wire opening therethrough for routing an electrical wire from the junction box to a light source. The perimeter section of the mounting place is outside the junction box.
ROTATABLE RETROFIT TRIM LIGHTING DEVICE
A retrofit trim lighting device is provided. In example embodiments, the retrofit trim lighting device comprises a bracket comprising an opening; at least one torsion spring secured to the bracket and configured to mount the retrofit trim lighting device within a recessed housing; a retrofit housing comprising at least one light engine; and an engagement element. The engagement element is secured to the retrofit housing through the opening of the bracket such that, when so secured, the retrofit housing and the bracket are rotatable relative to one another.

A retrofit trim lighting device is provided. SWING ARM FOR RECESSED LIGHTING FIXTURES
A recessed lighting fixture includes an elongated body including a flange and a pair of swing arms. The swing arms are deployable between a stowed configuration adjacent to the elongated body, to a deployed configuration wherein the swing arms extend radially from the elongated body. In the deployed configuration the swing arms are translatable along threaded members extending along the elongated body in order to clamp a ceiling or other surface between the swing arms and the flange to secure the recessed lighting fixture into a hole in the ceiling. The swing arms comprise removable portions that can be used to increase the range of thicknesses of surface in which the recessed lighting fixture can be installed.
Adjustable luminaire
An adjustable luminaire can include an upper body rotatably attached to an intermediate body. The upper body can contain a light module have an upper wall of varying height. The intermediate body can have an intermediate wall of varying height and the upper body and intermediate body can be rotatably attached so that rotating the upper body adjusts the angle at which light from the light module is emitted from the adjustable luminaire.
Lamp for mounting in an opening through a planar substrate, and an installation method
The invention provides a lamp (5) comprising a lamp body (6) and a mounting unit (8), for fitting through an opening in a substrate. The mounting unit has a front ring (10) for mounting against a front side of the substrate and an arrangement of lugs (12), sliders (20) and brackets (30). The brackets have a collapsed position in which the brackets fit through the opening; and an expanded locked position in which the brackets do not fit through the opening and the brackets are positioned for engaging with a back side of the substrate. The brackets are driven into their positions by a pushing/pulling arrangement rather than by using sprung arrangements. This enables damage to the substrate to be prevented.
A LAMP FOR MOUNTING IN AN OPENING THROUGH A PLANAR SUBSTRATE, AND AN INSTALLATION METHOD
The invention provides a lamp (5) comprising a lamp body (6) and a mounting unit (8), for fitting through an opening in a substrate. The mounting unit has a front ring (10) for mounting against a front side of the substrate and an arrangement of lugs (12), sliders (20) and brackets (30). The brackets have a collapsed position in which the brackets fit through the opening; and an expanded locked position in which the brackets do not fit through the opening and the brackets are positioned for engaging with a back side of the substrate. MODULAR LIGHTING DEVICE COMPRISING AN ADJUSTABLE MOUNTING MECHANISM
A modular lighting device may mounted into architectural finished surfaces such as ceilings, walls and floors. The device comprising an adjustable mounting mechanism that allows the lighting device to be fitted to various sized openings in a surface. One version of the modular lighting device includes a plate for receiving a lamp fitting, three mounting brackets, and a locking ring for restraining the mounting brackets to the plate, wherein the modular lightning device is configured such that it can be fitted to different sized openings via radial adjustment of the mounting brackets.
LIGHTING ARRANGEMENT WITH BATTERY BACKUP
A lighting arrangement operable to emit light is disclosed herein. The lighting arrangement can include a mounting bracket and a luminaire. The mounting bracket can have first and second bracket portions positioned about a central longitudinal axis of the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket can also include at least one pair of telescoping shafts interconnecting the first and second bracket portions. The mounting bracket can also include at least one spring positioned to bias the at least one pair of telescoping shafts to an extended configuration. The luminaire can have at least one spring member selectively engageable with at least one shaft of the at least one pair of telescoping shafts to selectively interconnect the luminaire and the mounting bracket.
