Disclosed is a nutritional composition for use in modulating or reducing inflammation in an adult or elderly individual in need thereof. In some aspects, the nutritional composition comprises a neutral human milk oligosaccharide.
Composition
The present invention relates to compositions and foodstuffs for use in increasing gastrointestinal microbiota diversity comprising: a) glucomannan; b) chromium; and c) a prebiotic (FOS). The compositions and foodstuffs are particularly suited for that increasing gastrointestinal microbiota diversity over a prolonged period of time which can assist individuals in reducing their weight and, more importantly, maintaining their lower weight over the longer term.

A formulation for a dietary supplement includes standardized extracts of astragalus root, phlorizin, root bark of white mulberry, olive leaf, and bitter melon. The formulation may further include chromium, 2-deoxy-D-glucose, biotin, vitamin D and vitamin C. A method of controlling postprandial blood glucose includes administering the formulation for the dietary supplement to a patient.
Dietary composition with probiotics and prebiotics
The present invention relates to compositions for use and formulation as weight management products and in particular fermented dairy foodstuffs. The compositions generally comprise two or more of the following components: a) a microbiome modifying component; b) a satiety modifying component; and c) a metabolic modifying 5 component and at least one of the following: d) Streptococcus thermophilus CBS 139100 and Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus CBS 139099 microbial strains or mutant strains or fragments or fractions thereof; e) a combination of Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus microbial strains which together, or individually, are capable of secreting polysaccharides having high levels of galactosamine 10 and no or low levels of rhamnose and glucuronic acid when grown on a dairy substrate; or f) polysaccharides formed of: i) 15-25% galactosamine; ii) 45-60% galactose; and iii) 20-30% glucose. The compositions may also be useful in the management or treatment of obesity, elevated cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension or heart disease.

Peptide compositions for slowing degradation of vitamin mineral supplements, foods, pharmaceutical and cosmetics
Compositions of foods, vitamin and mineral supplements, topical or oral drugs, and cosmetic products containing a small peptide or peptides for slowing degradation, for example by transition metals. The peptides are di, tri, terra-, and/or penta-peptides containing two or more aspartic acid residues. The degradation of several of the vitamin and other constituents vitamin-mineral supplements can be considerably slowed by composition incorporating such peptides, particularly if soluble (and thus bioavailable) forms of copper and/or iron are also present. The peptides can be hydrolyzed by the normal digestive process thus releasing bound metals. Multiple aspartate peptide(s) compositions with foods, topical or oral drugs, cosmetic, and hair care products can replace synthetic chelating preservative agents. Methods are also described to effectively slow degradation and preserve the above products using multiple aspartate peptides.
