Dual/multi energy gas water heater
10393405 · 2019-08-27 · ·

A dual energy gas water heater is described and wherein a square flange, curved resistor style resistive heating element, is secured in a bottom portion of the tank of the water heater spaced above a top wall of the combustion chamber. A gas burner is secured in the combustion chamber and connected to a gas supply line through a gas valve. The curved resistive heating element is a low density, long life, element having a density in the range of about 20 to 80 watts/sq. inches. A switch is secured between the thermostat of the resistive heating element and the voltage supply line. A controller selectively operates the switch and the gas valve to disconnect the voltage supply line from the thermostat and/or shut-off the gas valve secured to the gas supply line depending on the desired source of energy. The controller is adapted to be optionally controlled by a utility/provider through a communication link. Renewable energy source may also be secured to an additional resistive heating element to improve the efficiency thereof.

A boiler system having a generally cylindrical housing or shell includes a main or fire tube with a furnace or combustion chamber extending longitudinally near the bottom of the housing and a burner to accomplish combustion within the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber opens at its rear end to furnace tube sheet, and to a first set of tubes extending longitudinally of the boiler. The first set of tubes extends to and through the rear tube sheet of the boiler to a turnaround space, which transitions to a second set of tubes located above the combustion chamber and first set of tubes to generally span a length extending from the rear tube sheet of the boiler to the front tube sheet. The boiler system as disclosed has a reduced size while maintaining efficiency in steam and hot water applications.

Smoke tube boiler

The present invention relates to a smoke tube boiler including: a mix chamber which includes a mixing space in which combustion gas and air are mixed, a mix chamber body having a flat shape, and a flat plate-shaped burner disposed in a horizontal direction above a combustion chamber; and a heat exchanger which includes an outer shell forming an outer wall of a water tank into and from which a heat medium is introduced and discharged and which accommodates the heat medium, a plurality of tubes formed in a flat shape that are configured to allow combustion gas generated in the combustion chamber to flow therein and cause a heat exchange to occur between the combustion gas and the heat medium flowing outside the tubes, turbulators coupled to an inner side of the tube and configured to induce occurrence of a turbulent flow in the flow of the combustion gas, and multi-stage barriers disposed between the outer shell and the tube and configured to induce a heat medium flow direction to be alternately changed between a radially inward direction and a radially outward direction.

Hot water boiler

A modulating burner apparatus includes a variable speed blower feeding a multi-chamber burner having first and second burner chambers. A manifold system communicates the blower with the burner, and a flow control valve member is located between the blower and the second chamber of the burner. The flow control valve is configured to provide fuel and air mixture from the blower to only the first burner chamber at lower blower speeds of the blower and to both the first and second burner chambers at higher blower speeds of the blower.

HEATING DEVICE

A heating device has a combustion chamber and a gas flue configured to guide hot exhaust gas generated in the combustion chamber, the flue having an inlet region and an outlet region and is configured connected to the combustion chamber via the inlet region. Heat transfer ribs having a wall thickness are arranged spaced from each other in the gas flue for the heat transfer from hot exhaust gas to the gas flue. The wall thickness of the heat transfer ribs and/or the distances of the heat transfer ribs to one another are optionally configured to be larger on the sides of the inlet region than on the sides of the outlet region.

BOILER

A boiler includes a chamber designed to receive and conduct hot exhaust gases, the chamber being enclosed by two plate elements which have an angled design and are arranged relative to one another in a sandwich-like manner, and the chamber being connected to a flow guide that is designed between the plate elements and used to cool the hot exhaust gases. The flow guide is designed in the form of a flat gap channel which fully encloses the periphery of the chamber.
