A portable thermal insulated apparatus for cooling or heating items stored therein. The thermal insulated apparatus includes a container having a lid that removably secures to an open first end thereof and a reservoir unit that removably secures to an open second end. The container includes an inner tube and an outer tube forming an insulated double-wall sealed at both ends in which the lid and reservoir unit can be connected thereto. The reservoir unit removably receives a thermal unit that provides cooling or heating to the contents of the container when affixed thereto. The thermal unit is separable from the reservoir unit, such that the thermal units are interchangeable as needed. In some embodiments, the thermal unit is directly securable to the lid and the second end of the container is permanently sealed.

Configurable container

A configurable storage container system for storing items includes a tote, an insulated shell with a lid, and an insulated divider configured to divide the internal cavity of the tote into two sections. The insulated shell is configured for receiving the tote. The insulated shell includes a base and a plurality of side walls and is foldable between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration such that the tote fits inside the insulated shell when the insulated shell is in the expanded configuration. The lid is configured for closing the tote inside the insulated shell when the insulated shell is in the expanded configuration.

SEMI-PASSIVE COOLING USING HIERARCHICAL VASCULATURE

A semi-passive cooling system for a component exposed to a fluid flow utilizes a hierarchical vasculature and a sacrificial transpirant to cool the component. The component includes a body that defines a transpirant reservoir and the hierarchical vasculature. The transpirant is configured to transition between a solid phase and a vapor phase over an operating temperature range of the component.

PALLET COVER COMPRISING ONE OR MORE TEMPERATURE-CONTROL MEMBERS AND KIT FOR USE IN MAKING THE PALLET COVER

A pallet cover suitable for use in covering at least a portion of a payload on a pallet and a kit for use in making the pallet cover. In one embodiment, the pallet cover includes a top wall, a front wall, a rear wall, a left side wall, and a right side wall, wherein the walls are detachably joined to one another. Each of the top wall, the front wall, the rear wall, the left side wall, and the right side wall includes a first fabric sheet and a second fabric sheet, the first and second fabric sheets being joined together to form a plurality of pockets. Each pocket may removably receive a temperature-control member containing a phase-change material. At least one of the top wall, the front wall, the rear wall, the left side wall and the right side wall may include a plurality of detachably joined portions.

COLD STORAGE PACK, LOGISTIC PACKAGING CONTAINER, METHOD OF TRANSPORTING OBJECT AT LOW TEMPERATURE, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING COLD STORAGE PACK

A cold storage pack, a method of transporting an object at low temperature, and a method of manufacturing the cold storage pack are provided in a film pack of cold storage material. The film pack of cold storage material can be propped up with on a certain side thereof as a bottom, and even when it is propped up, the uniformity of the filling density of the latent heat cold storage material is higher. The cold storage pack includes: an encasing section composed of films facing each other and filled with a latent heat storage material therein; a linear external sealing section attached to a periphery of the encasing section to prevent the latent heat storage material from leaking out; and at least one linear internal sealing section extending inwards of the encasing section and adhering internal upper and lower faces of the encasing section together.

METHOD OF PACKING A TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED PRODUCT

A method of packing a temperature sensitive product utilizes a temperature controlled product shipper that includes a phase change material bladder which can be filled with a preconditioned brined-slurry PCM at the point of packaging. The temperature sensitive product is contained within a product box or master case, which is in turn packed inside an insulated liner and an outer box. The PCM bladder fits between the master case and the insulated liner and is filled with the preconditioned flowable PCM at the point of packing just before closing the box for shipment.

CONTAINER APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USING SAME

A container apparatus can include a container and an insert assembly. The insert assembly can include four elongate members. The four elongate members can include light emitting devices for illuminating the interior of the container and/or temperature altering elements for cooling and/or heating the interior of the container. The container can have a rectangular base and a rectangular sidewall extending upwardly from the base. The sidewall can define four corners of the container, and four elongate recesses can be formed in the sidewall proximate the four corners of the sidewall to receive the elongate light members. The recesses can be sized and shaped to conform to the elongate insert members so that the insert members can be releasably retained within the elongate recesses.

COLD STORAGE PACK AND PACKAGING CONTAINER, AND METHOD OF TRANSPORTING OBJECT AT LOW TEMPERATURE

A cold storage pack includes: heat exchange sections arranged in a first direction and in a second direction intersecting with the first direction; and a connecting section connecting the heat exchange sections that are adjacent, wherein the heat exchange sections each include: a latent heat storage material having a melting point lower than room temperature; and a container section having an internal space containing the latent heat storage material in a liquid-tight manner, the connecting section includes: an easy cutting section that is cuttable between the heat exchange sections; a frame-shaped section surrounding the heat exchange sections; a first connecting section extending between the heat exchange sections in the first direction; and a second connecting section extending between the heat exchange sections in the second direction, and the easy cutting section is continuous at least from an outer periphery of the frame-shaped section partway through the first connecting section.
