System and method for natural gas liquid production with flexible ethane recovery or rejection
A system and method for producing an NGL product stream in either an ethane retention or rejection mode. Rejection modes include (a) two heat exchange stages between a feed stream and first separator bottoms stream and cooling a side stream withdrawn from a fractionation tower through heat exchange with both the fractionation tower and second separator overhead streams; or (b) warming the first separator bottoms stream and fractionation overhead stream through heat exchange with the side stream prior to heat exchange with the feed stream, to achieve 4-15% ethane recovery and 97%+ propane recovery. In ethane retention mode, a portion of the feed stream and portions of a first separator overhead and bottoms streams are separately cooled through heat exchange with other process streams, including the entireties of a recycled residue gas and fractionation column overhead streams, resulting in around 99% ethane and around 100% propane recovery.

LIGHT OIL REFLUX HEAVIES REMOVAL PROCESS
The invention relates to various nonlimiting embodiments that include methods, apparatuses or systems for processing natural gas comprising a heavies removal column processing natural gas and light oil reflux. The overhead stream goes to heavies treated natural gas storage. The heavies removal column reboiler bottoms stream product is input to a debutanizer column. The debutanizer column overhead lights are input to a flash drum where the bottoms is pumped through a heat exchanger as a light oil reflux input to the heavies removal column, while the debutanizer reboiler bottoms product is stored as stabilized condensate. Alternatively, debutanizer column overhead lights are sent to heavies treated gas storage and the bottoms stream product goes to a depentanizer column, the overhead lights are pumped through a heat exchanger as a light oil reflux input to the heavies removal column, while the depentanizer reboiler bottoms product is stabilized condensate.
Modularized LNG separation device and flash gas heat exchanger
Described herein are methods and systems for the liquefaction of natural gas to produce a LNG product. The methods and systems use an apparatus for separating a flash gas from a liquefied natural gas (LNG) stream to produce a LNG product and recovering refrigeration from the flash gas. The apparatus includes a shell casing enclosing a heat exchange zone comprising a coil wound heat exchanger, and a separation zone. The heat exchange zone is located above and in fluid communication with the separation zone. Flash gas is separated from the LNG product in the separation zone and flows upwards from the separation zone into the heat exchange zone where refrigeration is recovered from the separated flash gas.
Preparing hydrocarbon streams for storage
A system and process that are configured to prepare incoming hydrocarbon feedstocks for storage. For incoming ethane gas, the embodiments can utilize a plurality of vessels to distill the incoming feedstock to vapor and liquid ethane that is suitable for storage. The embodiments can direct the vapor to a demethanizer column that is downstream of the vessels and other components. The process can include stages for distilling an incoming feedstock at a plurality of vessels to form a vapor and a liquid for storage; directing the vapor to a demethanizer column; and circulating liquid from the demethanizer column back to the plurality of vessels.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING LEAN LNG
A process for obtaining a product gas and product LNG having pressure P1 close to the atmospheric pressure from lean LNG, includes: a) branching the lean LNG to obtain a first flow and a second flow; b) cooling the second flow by using a refrigerant; c) branching a liquid flow derived from the cooled second flow to obtain refrigerant LNG and remaining LNG; d) subjecting the remaining LNG to pressure reduction and gas-liquid separation to obtain a gas phase flow and a liquid phase flow (product LNG) having pressure P1; e) subjecting the refrigerant LNG to pressure reduction; f) using a flow from the step e as the refrigerant; g) joining, before or after the step f, the gas phase flow having pressure P1 to a flow from the step e; h) liquefying a flow resulting from the steps f and g by pressure increase and cooling (through heat exchange with the first flow); i) increasing the first flow in pressure before the step h; j) obtaining the product gas by regasifying the first flow after the steps h and i; and k) joining a flow liquefied in the step h to the second flow.
Liquefaction of Production Gas
A method and apparatus for liquefying a feed gas stream comprising natural gas and carbon dioxide. A method includes compressing an input fluid stream to generate a first intermediary fluid stream; cooling the first intermediary fluid stream with a first heat exchanger to generate a second intermediary fluid stream, wherein a temperature of the second intermediary fluid stream is higher than a carbon dioxide-freezing temperature for the second intermediary fluid stream; expanding the second intermediary fluid stream to generate a third intermediary fluid stream, wherein the third intermediary fluid stream comprises solid carbon dioxide; separating the third intermediary fluid stream into a fourth intermediary fluid stream and an output fluid stream, wherein the output fluid stream comprises a liquefied natural gas (LNG) liquid; and utilizing the fourth intermediary fluid stream as a cooling fluid stream for the first heat exchanger.
