Heat exchanger and air-conditioner

A heat exchanger including multiple fins, multiple heat transfer pipes having an oval shape or a flat shape and joined to the fins, and a header connected, on one end side, to an end portion of an inlet pipe through which working fluid flows in upon evaporation operation and connected, on the other end side, to an end portion of each of the heat transfer pipes, wherein the header includes a longitudinal partition plate arranged to extend in a longitudinal direction and configured to divide an internal space of the header into an inlet-pipe-side space connected to the end portion of the inlet pipe and a heat-transfer-pipe-side space connected to the end portion of each of the heat transfer pipes, and an opening is formed at a position not overlapping with the inlet pipe at the longitudinal partition plate.

Detecting loss of charge in HVAC systems

An HVAC system includes an evaporator, a first sensor coupled to the evaporator at a first position, and a second sensor operably coupled to the evaporator at a second position. The first sensor monitors a first temperature of the refrigerant flowing in the evaporator at the first position, which is adjacent to the evaporator inlet. The second sensor monitors a second temperature of the refrigerant flowing in the evaporator at the second position, which is downstream from the first position. The system includes a controller, which receives a first signal corresponding to the first temperature and a second signal corresponding to the second temperature. The controller determines, based on the received signals, a temperature difference between the second temperature and the first temperature. In response to determining that the temperature difference is greater than a predefined threshold value, the controller determines that a loss of charge has occurred.

A heat exchanger system includes a rigid framework a rigid framework. A first heat exchanger may be coupled to a first support structure on a top of the rigid framework. A second heat exchanger may be positioned below the first heat exchanger. The second heat exchanger may be coupled to a second support structure. The second support structure may hang from the rigid framework via a first set of tethers. The first set of tethers may be configured to vertically and horizontally move the second support structure. The vertically and horizontally movement of the second support structure may be based on a thermal expansion of the second heat exchanger.

Gas compression cooling system
11204025 · 2021-12-21 · ·

A multi-stage gas compression system useful at the production site and at central collection points, having an energy efficient and effective intercooler system. The system includes a reciprocating compressor having a plurality of compressor valves and cylinders configured in series to provide staged compression to the natural gas. Coupled with the compressor are an inlet port for receiving natural gas to be compressed, and an outlet port for delivering compressed fluid from the compressor to a discharge line, to the transmission pipeline or storage. Facilitating transmission and intercooling of the natural gas between cylinders are a plurality of pipes, each pipe in close proximity with an intercooler. The rate of cooling of the intercooler is determined by a control system coupled therewith, including a temperature sensor positioned within pipe proximal to the intercooler, and means to compare the temperature measured by the temperature sensor and an optimal temperature or temperature range, and determine appropriate levels of cooling provided by the intercooler.
