Heat exchanger or refrigeration apparatus including heat exchanger
A heat exchanger includes: a heat exchanging part that includes flat tubes aligned vertically when the heat exchanger is installed; a first flow divider that includes a first pipe through which a refrigerant enters or exits from the first flow divider, second pipes that provide refrigerant flow paths between the heat exchanging part and the first pipe, and a main body that internally has a first space; and second flow dividers that each internally include one of second spaces that provide refrigerant flow paths between the heat exchanging part and the first flow divider. The first space communicates with a first end of the first pipe and a first end of each of the second pipes and causes the refrigerant to flow from the first pipe into the second pipes or from the second pipes into the first pipe.
Staggered heat exchanger array with side curtains
A heat exchanger array includes a first row of heat exchangers, a second row of heat exchangers, and side curtains. The first row heat exchangers are spaced apart to define first gaps. Each side curtain is in close proximity to a first row heat exchanger and a second row heat exchanger. The side curtains define a neck region upstream of and aligned with each first row heat exchanger and each second row heat exchanger. Each neck region has a neck area that is less than a frontal area of the heat exchanger with which it is aligned.
Passive containment cooling system including multiple condensing stages and catalyst
A passive containment cooling system (PCCS) condenser, for reducing some non-condensable gases in the PCCS, includes a first and a second stage condenser that each include channels in fluid communication between an inlet and an outlet header. The inlet header of the first stage condenser is configured to receive a fluid mixture through a first inlet opening. The channels are configured to condense water from the fluid mixture flowing through the channels from the inlet header to the outlet header, respectively, of the first and second stage condenser. The PCCS condenser includes a catalyst in at least one of the outlet header of the first stage condenser or the inlet header of the second stage condenser. The catalyst catalyzes a reaction for forming water from hydrogen and oxygen in the fluid mixture. The outlet header of the second stage condenser is in fluid communication with a combined vent-and-drain line.

A condenser (404) configured to condense gas phase refrigerant to liquid phase refrigerant. The condenser (404) includes a gas header (408) configured to receive gas phase refrigerant, a liquid header (410) disposed opposite the gas header, the liquid header (410) separated into at least two sections, each section of the at least two sections having a port, and parallel tubes (406) extending between the gas header (408) and the liquid header (410).
Heat exchanger
A heat exchanger includes a header and a side plate. The header has a face plate that defines a plurality of orifices. The header has a protrusion that extends outward from the header and down such that a gap is formed between the header and the protrusion. An external portion of the protrusion is configured to break away from the header during thermal expansion. The side plate is disposed adjacent to an array of alternating tubes and fins. Each tube extends into one of the orifices of the plurality of orifices. The side plate has an end that is secured to the external portion of the protrusion.
A HEADER FOR A HEAT EXCHANGER
A header (10) for a heat exchanger, in particular for a charge air cooler, comprising an opening plane (12) with plurality of openings (14) for attachment of tubes, a collar (13) encircling the perimeter of the opening plane (12) and protruding at least partially above the opening plane (12), wherein the header (10) further comprises guiding protrusions (11a, 11b) located along inner perimeter of the collar (13) adjacent to said openings (14) and configured to guide the tubes into the openings (14) upon insertion, wherein the openings (14) have substantially rectangular shape with longer sides (14a) and shorter sides (14b) and are arranged in series along their longer sides (14a), wherein a first group of guiding protrusions (11a) is located adjacent the longer sides (14a) of the openings (14), while a second group of guiding protrusions (11b) is located adjacent the shorter sides (14b) of the openings (14).
HEAT EXCHANGER AND AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM
A heat exchanger (100) and an air-conditioning system. The heat exchanger (100) comprises: a group of first heat exchange tubes (T1) for forming a first loop (C1); a group of second heat exchange tubes (T2) for forming a second loop (C2); and a group of fins (3), at least a plurality of fins (3) in the group of fins (3) being in contact with both at least a plurality of first heat exchange tubes (1) in the group of first heat exchange tubes (T1), and at least a plurality of second heat exchange tubes (T2) in the group of second heat exchange tubes (T2). If one loop of an air-conditioning system having two loops is closed, heat exchange regions of the fins for the loop can be used in the other loop, thereby improving the heat exchange efficiency of a heat exchanger.
Heat exchanger
A heat exchanger includes a plurality of flat tubes provided to extend in a first direction, and a plurality of plate-shaped fins having respective surfaces extending in a second direction. The surface has a windward edge and a leeward edge. The plurality of flat tubes include a first flat tube disposed most windward in the second direction, and a second flat tube spaced apart from the first flat tube and disposed most leeward in the second direction. In the second direction, a distance between the leeward edge and a center of a flat shape of the second flat tube is at least one-third of a width between the windward edge and the leeward edge.
