Heat exchanger comprising a pair of headers and a plurality of parallel and coplanar tubes interconnecting the headers, wherein each header comprises a header plate provided with a plurality of slots, in each of which an end of a respective tube is fitted, and wherein the heat exchanger is configured to prevent fluid from flowing into at least one tube, hereinafter dummy tube, arranged at a boundary between functionally different sections of the heat exchanger. The slot of the header plate which receives the end of the respective dummy tube is formed as a blind recess in the header plate.

HEAT EXCHANGER, OUTDOOR UNIT INCLUDING HEAT EXCHANGER, AND AIR-CONDITIONING APPARATUS INCLUDING OUTDOOR UNIT

A heat exchanger includes: a heat exchange body having a plurality of flat tubes arranged and spaced from each other in a horizontal direction; an upper header provided at an upper end of the heat exchange body; a lower header provided at a lower end of the heat exchange body; and a partition plate provided in at least one of the upper and lower headers to partition the heat exchange body into a plurality of regions in a horizontal direction. The partition plate is provided such that in each of the regions, refrigerant flows in the opposite direction to the flow direction of the refrigerant in an adjacent one of the regions, and is provided such that regarding the regions, the more downward the region in the flow of the refrigerant when the heat exchanger operates as a condenser, the smaller a flow passage cross-sectional area of the region.

HEAT EXCHANGER AND AIR-CONDITIONING APPARATUS EMPLOYING THE SAME

A heat exchanger includes a plurality of flat tubes, and a header. A flow passage provided inside the header includes a plurality of partition portions each provided between the adjacent flat tubes, a plurality of insertion portions formed between the adjacent partition portions, a first communication passage allowing one ends of the adjacent insertion portions to communicate with each other, and a second communication passage allowing an other ends of the adjacent insertion portions to communicate with each other. A cross-sectional area of the first communication passage is larger than a cross-sectional area of the second communication passage, and the first communication passage is provided with a first refrigerant inlet connected to the flow passage and allowing the refrigerant to flow into the header. Thus, a heat exchanger performance can be improved by reducing a refrigerant pressure loss and by achieving uniform distribution of the refrigerant.

Condenser

A condenser includes first and second header tanks provided on one side of the condenser, and a third header tank provided on another side of the condenser. A plurality of second heat exchange tubes extend in an extending direction between the second header tank and the third header tank to connect the second header tank and the third header tank. A plurality of first heat exchange tubes are provided to extend in the extending direction between the first header tank and the third header tank to connect the first header tank and the third header tank. The plurality of first heat exchange tubes are directly connected to the first header tank. The plurality of first heat exchange tubes are longer than the plurality of second heat exchange tubes and are positioned downstream of the plurality of second heat exchange tubes with respect to a flow of refrigerant.

Heat exchanger for vehicle

A heat exchanger comprises a first header, a second header, a plurality of tubes, and a flow reducer. The first header is connected to a hot fluid inlet and to a cold fluid outlet, so that the first header comprises a hot region and a cold region, separated by a wall. Each of the plurality of tubes provides fluid communication between the first and second headers, including one tube located next to the wall in the hot region of the first header, being called “hot end tube” , and one tube located next to the wall in the cold region of the first header, being called “cold end tube” . The flow reducer reduces the fluid flow in the hot end tube compared to the fluid flow in other tubes located in the hot region.
