Method and system for using enhanced location-based information to guide munitions
An ordnance munition is included in an intelligent ordnance projectile delivery system and equipped with targeting and guidance systems that allow the ordnance munition to collaborate with other devices to intelligently select targets and/or to guide the ordnance munition to its selected target. The ordnance munition may determine its approximate current location, form a communication group with a wireless transceiver that is in close proximity, and send the approximate current location to the wireless transceiver and/or other devices in the communication group. In response, the ordnance munition may receive location information from the wireless transceiver and/or other devices that are in the communication group. The ordnance munition may determine its more precise location based on the information received from the wireless transceiver, and alter its flight path based in the updated and more precise location.
Methods and apparatuses for engagement management of aerial threats
Embodiments include engagement management systems and methods for managing engagement with aerial threats. Such systems include radar modules and detect aerial threats within a threat range of a base location. The systems also track intercept vehicles and control flight paths and detonation capabilities of the intercept vehicles. The systems are capable of communication between multiple engagement management systems and coordinated control of multiple intercept vehicles.
Sighting and launching system configured with smart munitions
A sighting and launching weapons system that incorporates the technologies of smart munitions and virtual reality (VR) simulation with precise target engagement capabilities; including targets that would normally be hidden from the shooter's field of view. Non-linear deployment of smart munitions to a precise target coordinate (via closed-loop navigation) allows for minimal collateral damage. Network link allows a plurality of operators to participate in coordinated target engagement in real time from one or more remote locations. The sighting and launching weapons system can be configured for a variety of uses including the deployment of weaponry or aid, and is capable of automatically identifying friendly targets from enemy targets.
Resolving closely spaced objects
A method and apparatus for resolving a set of objects in an image of an area. A partition that captures a set of objects is identified using the image. The partition is comprised of a group of contiguous object pixels. A number of local max pixels are identified from the group of contiguous object pixels in the partition. A quantitative resolution of the set of objects captured in the partition is performed based on the number of local max pixels identified.

The ordnance munition may alter its flight path based on the generated second location information.

Kinetic air defense
A missile defense system on an aircraft for destroying threats to the aircraft. The defense system includes at least one miniature guided missile mounted in a launch tube on the aircraft, where the guided missile includes a target acquisition and seeker system. The system also includes at least one sensor on the aircraft for acquiring a target threat, and a controller on the aircraft receiving signals from the at least one sensor. The controller generates a fire control solution that is provided to the at least one guided missile that directs the guided missile once it is fired from the launch tube towards the target threat, and the seeker system on the guided missile acquires the target once it is launched from the aircraft so as to destroy the target.
