Onboard HHO Gas Generation System for Heavy Duty Trucks
A dual-chamber onboard electrolysis system is configured to produce HHO gas for heavy duty trucking applications.
Method to Control an Exhaust Gas After-Treatment System for an Exhaust Gas System of an Internal Combustion Engine
A method to control an exhaust gas after-treatment system for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine having at least one catalytic converter and a burner, which is suited to introduce exhaust gases into an exhaust duct so as to speed up the heating of said at least one catalytic converter; the method entails inserting an indicator in a dashboard of a vehicle provided with the internal combustion engine so that it provides a driver of the vehicle with indications concerning the burner; and keeping the indicator turned on during a starting step, during which the temperature of said at least one catalytic converter is lower than an activation temperature.
CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
When an amount of particulate matter (PM) collected by a gasoline particulate filter (GPF) reaches a predetermined amount, a central processing unit (CPU) executes a regeneration process for regenerating the GPF. That is, the CPU stops supply of fuel to any one of cylinders #1 to #4, while increasing an amount of fuel supplied to remaining cylinders. When a temperature of a three-way catalyst becomes equal to or higher than a first temperature, the CPU increases an injection amount to lower a temperature of exhaust gas. When the temperature of the three-way catalyst becomes equal to or higher than the first temperature during the execution of the regeneration process, the CPU does not increase the injection amount.
EXPLOSION SAFE ELECTROLYSIS UNIT
A dual-chamber electrolysis vessel safely stores HHO gas for use by an internal combustion engine.
Automatic draining of water-fuel separator via downstream injection system
A diesel engine system includes an engine, an exhaust system connected to the engine, and a water-fuel separator. The exhaust system has an aftertreatment device, an exhaust pipe upstream of the aftertreatment device, and a fuel injector connected to the exhaust pipe. The water-fuel separator has a filter configured to separate water from fuel and a reservoir configured to store the separated water. The reservoir is in fluid communication with the fuel injector.
HHO Precision Injection System
Timing of HHO gas injection into a 4-stroke engine is optimized based on engine operating parameters to improve fuel economy.
Mixing device
A mixer assembly for mixing an injected reductant with an exhaust gas comprises a tubular housing including a reductant inlet, an exhaust gas inlet and an exhaust gas outlet. The reductant inlet is positioned on a first side of the tubular housing and oriented to direct injected reductant along an injection access that extends transversely to a longitudinal axis. A first flow guide element is shaped as a sheet including a first aperture extending therethrough as well as a surface facing upstream. Exhaust gas flowing through the first aperture is impinged by the injected redundant. A second flow guide element is shaped as a sheet, positioned downstream from the first flow guide element and fixed to the first flow guide element to define a mixing chamber between the first flow guide element and the second flow guide element in which the injected redundant and the exhaust gas mix.
Particulate Filter
A particulate filter disclosed herein includes a wall-flow structure substrate 10 and a wash coat layer 20 held inside a partition 16 of the substrate 10. The wash coat layer 20 includes an inlet layer 22 formed to have predetermined length L.sub.A and thickness T.sub.A from near an end thereof on an exhaust gas inflow side X1, and an outlet layer 24 formed to have predetermined length L.sub.B and thickness T.sub.B from near an end thereof on an exhaust gas outflow side X2. The inlet layer 22 and the outlet layer 24 partially overlap each other. In the particulate filter disclosed herein, the inlet layer 22 contains a precious metal catalyst, while the outlet layer 24 contains substantially no precious metal catalyst. The length L.sub.A of the inlet layer is 50% or more and 75% or less of a total length L of the partition 16. Thus, the particulate filter is capable of achieving both PM collection performance and pressure-drop reduction performance at high levels.
Control device for internal combustion engine

That is, the CPU stops supply of fuel to any one of cylinders #1 to #4, while increasing an amount of fuel supplied to remaining cylinders. When a temperature of a three-way catalyst becomes equal to or higher than a first temperature, the CPU increases an injection amount to lower a temperature of exhaust gas. When the temperature of the three-way catalyst becomes equal to or higher than the first temperature during the execution of the regeneration process, the CPU does not increase the injection amount.
Automatic regeneration control device for particulate filter
An automatic regeneration controller for a particular filter comprises an engine controller, a unit controller, and a load application cancellation switch. With filter regeneration being started by determination of particulate accumulation and with an idling or light-load operation being conducted, load request to a work unit is outputted from the engine controller to the unit controller. Then, when load application is not possible or the load application cancellation switch is on and, in addition, exhaust temperature is not maintainable with no load application, a regeneration stop signal is outputted from the unit controller to the engine controller and a regeneration stop signal reception process is conducted in the engine controller, and with no forced load application to a hydraulic unit, fuel addition is stopped to stop automatic regeneration control.
