Systems and Methods for Controlling Liquid Flow to a Turbine Fogging Array
Methods and apparatus for controlling liquid flow to a turbine fogging array. Some implementations are generally directed toward adjusting the output of a variable output pump that supplies water to the turbine fogging array. In some of those implementations, the output is adjusted based on a determined target pump output value that is indicative of a pump output required to change the moisture content of intake air of a combustion turbine to meet a target humidity value. Some implementations are generally directed toward actuating at least one control valve of a plurality of control valves that control liquid throughput to one or more fogging nozzles of a fogging array.
Annular injection apparatus for wet compression
A technical object of the present invention is to provide an annular injection apparatus for wet compression which enables sprayed droplets to maximally evaporate without being drained as condensate water, thereby reducing compression work of the compressor. To this end, the annular injection apparatus for wet compression according to the present invention is an annular injection apparatus for wet compression which is used for a compressor including a nose cone and a bell mouth in an inlet of a flow path, in which droplets are sprayed to a portion except for portions directed toward the nose cone and the bell mouth.
Method of running an air inlet system
The present embodiments disclose a method of running an air inlet system upstream of one or more inlet air filters of a device protected by air filtration, wherein the method comprises: regulating the relative air humidity of the inlet air at the one or more inlet air filters in dependence of the inlet air filters differential pressure.
COOLING SYSTEM FOR A TURBINE ENGINE
A gas turbine engine includes a compressor section having a high pressure compressor and a core casing surrounding the compressor section and defining an inlet. The gas turbine engine also includes a cooling system for cooling air in or to the compressor section. The cooling system includes a fluid tank for storing a volume of cooling fluid and a fluid line assembly in fluid communication with the fluid tank. The fluid line assembly includes an outlet positioned upstream of the high pressure compressor and downstream of the inlet defined by the core casing for injecting cooling fluid into an airflow upstream of the high pressure compressor.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COOLING THE AMBIENT AIR AT THE INLET OF GAS COMBUSTION TURBINE GENERATORS
Embodiments provide a method and apparatus to lower the temperature and heat content of the ambient air at the inlet to a gas combustion turbine to enhance power generation. Embodiments can use multiple, staged direct contact air chillers, variable flow secondary water chilling systems, constant flow primary water chilling systems with water chilling units arranged for parallel chilled water flow, and a coolant water circulation system used for heat rejection with open cooling towers. Alternatives can use a chilled water thermal storage system, and/or waste heat to drive at least part of the water chilling process. With the included apparatus a method to allow adiabatic air chilling is available for operation during periods of lower ambient air conditions when needs for power augmentation may not be as great.
Reducing the load consumed by gas turbine compressor and maximizing turbine mass flow
The invention is applicable to industrial gas turbines to reduce the load consumed by the gas turbine compressor and to maximize the turbine mass flow.
Systems and methods for selectively augmenting power output of a gas turbine engine
Systems and methods for augmenting power output when operating a load having relatively brief periods of high energy demand and high heat generation. A system comprises a gas turbine engine including a coolant injection assembly, an electrical generator coupled to the gas turbine engine, a high-energy operating load coupled to the electrical generator, and a cooling system adapted to provide cooling to the high-energy operating load. The cooling system is coupled and adapted to provide coolant to the coolant injection assembly of the gas turbine engine. A method comprises coupling the cooling system to the coolant injection assembly at the inlet of the gas turbine engine, selectively diverting at least a portion of the coolant of the cooling system to the coolant injection assembly, and spraying the diverted coolant into air entering the gas turbine engine.
System for reducing inlet air temperature of a device
The present embodiments disclose a system for reducing inlet air temperature of a device, including: an air inlet, a fogging system that provides air cooling, wherein the fogging system includes at least one low pressure rotary atomiser working at a pressure that is, for example, between 0.5 and 6 bar, and one or more air filters.
Fuel tank with water bladder
A tank assembly is provided and includes a housing which has a housing volume and which is chargeable with a volume of a first fluid, a bladder disposed within the housing and chargeable with a second fluid such that the bladder has a minimal volume in an uncharged state and a flow system. The flow system includes a portion thereof which is coupled to the bladder and which has a second volume within the housing. The flow system is configured to at least charge the bladder with a volume of the second fluid which is equal to or less than a difference between the housing volume less a sum of the minimal volume and the second volume and the volume of the first fluid.
LIQUID INJECTION APPARATUS AND COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY HAVING THE SAME
A liquid injection apparatus for use with a compressor having a rotor shaft and a casing part is provided. The liquid injection apparatus includes at least one conduit and at least one nozzle coupled to the conduit(s). The liquid injection apparatus is panel-shaped and has a first panel segment, a second panel segment, and at least one of: a passage defined between the first panel segment and the second panel segment, the passage sized to receive at least one of the rotor shaft and the casing part; and a third panel segment positioned between the first panel segment and the second panel segment. The third panel segment is at least in part detachable from the first panel segment and/or the second panel segment for receiving at least one of the rotor shaft and the casing part between the first panel segment and the second panel segment.
