This document relates to smokeless products containing one or more non-tobacco plant materials. Certain embodiments described in this document relate to smokeless products containing one or more tobacco-alternative plant materials and having properties similar to tobacco-containing oral products.

A biomass burner includes a hopper, a ventilating chamber, a U-shaped fire box, a feeding cylinder including an output end, an auger, a feeding motor including a driving wheel, an ignition device, an ignition motor, a ventilation plate, a first poking device, a second poking device, a first poking motor configured to drive the first poking device, a second poking motor configured to drive the second poking device, a first fixed plate, and a second fixed plate. The hopper is disposed below the feeding cylinder. The feeding cylinder is disposed through the ventilating chamber and the output end of the feeding cylinder extends into the U-shaped fire box. The auger is disposed in the feeding cylinder and is driven by the feeding motor; one end of the auger is provided with a driven gear, and the driven gear is meshed with the driving wheel of the feeding motor.

A stem screening and conditioning device includes a roller, a thermal insulation cover, a spiral feeding device, a compressed-air cleaning device, a steam tube, a discharge hole, and a waste hole. A stem screening and conditioning method for the stem screening and conditioning device is also provided. The present disclosure realizes the complete separation of normal-size and undersized stems under the premise of full moisture absorption, thereby improving the refinement and homogenization level of stem conditioning.

There is described herein a mutant, non-naturally occurring or transgenic plant or part thereof having reduced expression or activity of asparagine synthetase, said asparagine synthetase comprising, consisting or consisting essentially of: (i) a polynucleotide sequence comprising, consisting or consisting essentially of a sequence having at least 90% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO:1 or at least 72% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO:3 or SEQ ID NO:5 or SEQ ID NO:7; or (ii) a polypeptide encoded by the polynucleotide set forth in (i); or (iii) a polypeptide having at least 78% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO:2 or SEQ ID NO:4 or SEQ ID NO:6 or SEQ ID NO:8; wherein the expression or activity of the asparagine synthetase set forth in (i), (ii) or (iii) is reduced as compared to a control plant.
