METHOD AND CONTROL DEVICE FOR CORRECTING AN OUTPUT SIGNAL OF AN EXHAUST GAS SENSOR
A method and control device for correcting an output signal of an exhaust gas sensor in an exhaust gas conduit of an internal combustion engine, a secondary air delivery system for delivering air into the exhaust gas conduit being associated with the exhaust gas conduit upstream from the exhaust gas sensor in the flow direction of the exhaust gas. During a measurement of the output signal of the exhaust gas sensor, air is delivered to the exhaust gas conduit via the secondary air delivery system during a correction phase by way of which a correction of the output signal of the exhaust gas sensor is derived. In this operating mode, a defined oxygen content exists in the gas mixture surrounding said sensor, so that the output signal can be compared with reference values.
EXHAUST GAS CONTROL SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
In the exhaust gas control system, the electronic control unit is configured to execute first air-fuel ratio control for controlling an air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture in a part of cylinders to a lean air-fuel ratio and controlling an air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture in the other part of the cylinders to a rich air-fuel ratio is executed. The electronic control unit is configured to execute second air-fuel ratio control to perform malfunction diagnosis. The electronic control unit is configured to execute second air-fuel ratio control when the execution of the first air-fuel ratio control is interrupted after the temperature of the three-way catalyst becomes equal to or higher than the diagnosis temperature.
Universal control and evaluation unit particularly for operation of a lambda probe
A control and evaluation unit for the operation and evaluation of at least one sensor, in particular for the operation and evaluation of at least one lambda probe of an internal combustion engine, signal inputs being disposed for the reception of analog measured signals of the at least one sensor, received analog measured signals being digitized by way of an analog/digital converter, a signal transfer unit, by way of which digitized signals are transferred to a calculation unit, being disposed, and provision being made in particular that the signal inputs are switchable by way of a multiplexer.
Diagnosis system of internal combustion engine
An electronic control unit (ECU) of an internal combustion engine, which includes an air-fuel ratio sensor arranged at a downstream side of an exhaust purification catalyst, is configured to judge if a state of the air-fuel ratio sensor is normal or abnormal based on the first characteristic of change of air-fuel ratio and, if a judgment cannot be made based on the first characteristic, the ECU is configured to judge if the state of the air-fuel ratio sensor is normal or abnormal based on a second characteristic of change of air-fuel ratio. As a result, it is possible to suppress the effects of the change of state of the exhaust purification catalyst while accurately diagnosing the abnormality of deterioration of response of a downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor.
EHC LINE LEAKAGE DIAGNOSIS METHOD AND VEHICLE EXHAUST SYSTEM THEREOF
An EHC line leakage diagnosis method can operate a heater of an oxygen detector when satisfying one or more conditions of an engine off time, a coolant temperature, and an outside air temperature by a diagnosis controller upon the key-on of the non-operation of an engine, and then, determine the normality or abnormality of a temperature drop using a change in a temperature value of a signal value and the temperature value detected by the oxygen detector after an air pump is driven, and then confirm the leakage of an exhaust line and a line on the rear end portion of an EHC valve of an air line using the number of times of the occurrence of the abnormality of the temperature drop, and can perform the failure diagnosis without generating the exhaust gas by not operating an engine.
OBD SENSOR RESPONSE DIAGNOSTICS AND ANTI TAMPER DEVICE
A diagnostic method is provided for testing a gas sensor mounted in an exhaust gas stream of an internal combustion engine provided with an after treatment system and a diagnostic motor management module. The method comprises receiving a gas sensor signal from the gas sensor as subsequent gas sensor sample values in a time window; detecting a noise component from the gas sensor signal; deriving a sensor baseline condition in the diagnostic motor management module in case of a noise component detected at a value higher than a preset noise threshold value, and deriving a fault sensor condition in the diagnostic motor management module in case of a noise component detected at a value lower than the preset noise threshold value.
Method for Operating an Oxygen Sensor, Computer Program Product and Oxygen Sensor
A method and apparatus for compensates for oxygen sensor aging determines a correction of by measuring oxygen content above a specified threshold value and measuring current flowing through the sensor over time.
CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AIR FUEL IMBALANCE AND CYLINDER DEACTIVATION
A torque request module determines a torque request for an engine based on a driver input. A cylinder control module determines a target fraction of a total number of cylinders of the engine to be activated based on the torque request. An air fuel imbalance (AFIM) module selectively commands that the cylinder control module set the target fraction based on a predetermined fraction of the total number of cylinders of the engine to be activated. The cylinder control module further: sets the target fraction based on the predetermined fraction in response to the command; and activates and deactivates opening of intake and exhaust valves of the cylinders of the engine based on the target fraction. The AFIM module further, while the target firing fraction is set based on the predetermined fraction, selectively diagnoses the presence of an AFIM fault based on samples of a signal from an oxygen sensor.
ENGINE CONTROL DEVICE
An ECM executes a catalyst early activation control at the cold start of an engine such that the activation of a catalyzer is promoted by opening a WGV. Further, the ECM performs a diagnosis process of diagnosing whether or not the WGV is stuck closed, based on the amplitude of the output fluctuation in an air-fuel-ratio sensor during execution of the catalyst early activation control.
EXHAUST PURIFICATION SYSTEM AND CATALYST REGENERATION METHOD
There is provided: a NOx occlusion reduction-type catalyst that is provided in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine, occludes NOx in exhaust when the exhaust is in a lean state, and reduces and purifies the occluded NOx when the exhaust is in a rich state; an exhaust injector that is provided in the exhaust passage and is positioned further upstream than the NOx occlusion reduction-type catalyst; a NOx-purging control unit that performs NOx purging of reducing and purifying the NOx occluded in the NOx occlusion reduction-type catalyst by lowering the exhaust to a prescribed target lambda by fuel injection by the exhaust injector; and a NOx-purging-prohibition processing unit that inhibits performance of the NOx purging in a case where the exhaust cannot be lowered to the target lambda even if the fuel injection is performed at a maximum limit injection amount of the exhaust injector.
