Vaporized fuel processing apparatus
A vaporized fuel processing apparatus has a canister capable of adsorbing vaporized fuel generated in a fuel tank, a vapor path connecting the canister to the fuel tank, a closing valve provided in the vapor path, a purge path connecting the canister to an intake path of an engine, a pressure sensor for detecting the inner pressure of the fuel tank, and an electric control unit controlling the vaporized fuel processing apparatus. When the inner pressure of the fuel tank is in excess of the measurement range of the pressure sensor, the learning of the valve opening start position is prohibited, and pre-learning depressurization control is performed through change of the stroke amount of the closing valve in the valve opening direction until the inner pressure of the fuel tank is within the measurement range of the pressure sensor.
ENGINE SYSTEM WITH INFERENTIAL SENSOR
An engine system incorporating an engine, one or more sensors, and a controller. The controller may be connected to the one or more sensors and the engine. The one or more sensors may be configured to sense one or more parameters related to operation of the engine. The controller may incorporate an air-path state estimator configured to estimate one or more air-path state parameters in the engine based on values of one or more parameters sensed by the sensors. The controller may have an on-line and an off-line portion, where the on-line portion may incorporate the air-path state estimator and the off-line portion may configure and/or calibrate a model for the air-path state estimator.

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium stores a data-acquisition-instruction generating program that causes a computer to execute a process including: first generating a plurality of change curves of each of control parameters based on requisite density information, the requisite density information being related to a data measurement density in a data measurement region specified by a combination of a plurality of control parameters, the plurality of control parameters being used by a device subject to the data measurement; and second generating a data acquisition instruction to perform measurement at a plurality of measurement points with respect to the device to be measured in an order in which change of each control parameter becomes change corresponding to the change curves, and new measurement is performed such that only one of the control parameters changes from previous measurement.

Method of estimating soot using a radio frequency sensor
A method of calibrating a soot load estimating function for a diesel particulate filter uses radio frequency attenuation measurement and temperature measurements. The method comprises identifying a minimum mean attenuation value associated with a standard deviation that exceeds a standard deviation threshold and using this minimum mean attenuation value as a reference value. The method further comprises using a data library that contains gradient values for each of a range of possible temperature values to obtain a first gradient value, the first gradient value corresponding to the first temperature value, wherein each gradient value relates to the gradient of a linear approximation between mean attenuation and soot load at the corresponding temperature. The method involves using the reference value and the first gradient value to determine an axis intercept value for use as an offset value and adopting the offset value as a temperature-independent calibration value for the diesel particulate filter.

Automated pedal sensor profile for speed control
One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for automatically obtaining a profile for a set of accelerator pedal position sensors in a target vehicle. The profile can comprise a correlation of the position of the pedal to an output signal for one or more sensor in the set of sensors. A pedal position sensor signal reader can be used to automatically detect signals from one or more pedal position sensor in the target vehicle's accelerator pedal, while the pedal is released, depressed, and moving between the released and depressed positions. A pedal profile can be automatically generated using the output signals and corresponding pedal positions. Obtained data can be used to program a speed control device for the target vehicle. Correlated output can be used to adjust the speed of the vehicle by sending an emulated signal to the ECM, which may adjust the speed control system.
Machine system and operating strategy using auto-population of trim files
Operating a machine system includes triggering, based on activation of an on-board electronic control system, interrogation of electronically controlled components installed in a machine to read a plurality of electronic trim files each resident on a different one of the electronically controlled components. A data structure on an electronic storage medium in the control system is populated with the electronic trim files each time the control system is activated, such as by turning on an ignition switch. Operating the machine system also includes outputting control signals based on the electronic trim files to run the machine system based on operation of the electronically controlled components responsive to the outputted control signals.

The systems and methods may adjust vehicle operation to comply with standards that may be enforced where the vehicle is geographically located.
