Knock determination apparatus for internal combustion engine
A knock determination apparatus for an internal combustion engine calculates a knock intensity based on an output signal of an in-cylinder pressure sensor in a gate range for knock determination. When the calculated knock intensity is larger than a knock determination threshold value, the knock determination apparatus determines that knock has occurred. Further, the knock determination apparatus calculates an integrated intensity which is an integrated value of knock intensities that are equal to or larger than a knock intensity at a point of 97% or more in a target knock level among knock intensities that are calculated at the respective cycles during continuous N cycles in the same cylinder. Furthermore, the knock determination apparatus corrects a knock determination threshold value so that the difference between the calculated integrated intensity and a target integrated intensity becomes small.

A learning method for controlling opening or closing of an intake/exhaust valve of a vehicle may include a state determining step determining whether a vehicle state satisfies a learning entry condition, a learning frequency determining step determining whether a learning frequency is less than a preset reference frequency after the vehicle starts, when the vehicle state satisfies the learning entry condition, a change learning step learning an area of an inflow passage of the intake/exhaust valve that is changed due to a deposition of impurities, when the learning frequency while driving is less than the preset reference frequency after the vehicle starts, and an escape condition determining step determining whether the vehicle state satisfies a learning escape condition, after the learning step.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ADJUSTING SENSORS AND ACTUATORS DURING ENGINE FUEL-OFF CONDITIONS
Methods and systems are provided for monitoring and adapting sensors and actuators in the induction system and exhaust system of an internal combustion engine during a period of time in which fresh air is flowing through the internal combustion engine without fuel delivery. According to the disclosure, the period of time in which fresh air is flowing through the internal combustion engine when fuel delivery is turned off and the monitoring and adapting is being carried out is extended by transferring torque produced by electric motor to the internal combustion engine.
Tolerance and wear compensation of a fuel pump
A method for calibrating a fuel pump for use in a fuel supply system of a device having internal combustion engine includes determining a tolerance-conditioned and wear-conditioned deviation of the fuel pump with respect to its delivery behavior so that the calibration permits energy-consumption-optimized actuation of the fuel pump.
Control device for controlling an internal combustion engine and method for heating an exhaust emission control device
An exhaust-gas purification system and method controls an internal combustion engine having at least one cylinder-piston unit operating in a overrun (drag) mode in which piston motion is induced by motion of an output shaft of a drive output unit associated with the internal combustion engine. A control device controls, for each of cylinder-piston unit, an intake fluid, an exhaust valve and fuel injection to heat an exhaust emission control device by deactivating fuel injection, passing the substantially fuel-free intake fluid into the cylinder, compressing and thereby heating the fluid in the cylinder, and passing the heated outlet fluid to the exhaust emission control device. The control device may control the amount of heating based on measurement and/or use of a temperature model of the exhaust emission control device.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE CONTROLLER
An internal combustion engine controller for an internal combustion engine comprising a memory and a processor. The memory is configured to store a plurality of control maps, each control map defining a hypersurface of actuator setpoints for controlling an actuator of the internal combustion engine based on a plurality of input variables to the internal combustion engine controller. The processor comprises a map updating module, a parameter updating module and an engine setpoint module. The map updating module is configured to calculate an optimised hypersurface for at least one of the control maps based on a performance objective function of the internal combustion engine, sensor data from the internal combustion engine, and the plurality of input variables, wherein the performance objective function includes parameters. The parameter updating module is configured to update a parameter of the performance objective function upon determining a change in an operating condition of the internal combustion engine. The parameters comprise one or both of: engine parameters associated with an engine model; and cost parameters associated with a cost function. The map updating module is further configured to update the hypersurface of the control map based on the optimised hypersurface. The engine setpoint module is configured to output a control signal to each actuator based on a location on the hypersurface of the respective control map defined by the plurality of input variables.
Method for learning emergency injection correction of injector for preventing misfire
The present disclosure provides a method for learning emergency injection correction of an injector for preventing misfire. A misfire rate in a multi-stage injection mode is monitored, and it is controlled to be forcibly switched to a single injection mode when the misfire rate by the monitoring is equal to or greater than a specific value, such that injector injection correction learning is performed according to a learning entry condition. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the deviation between cylinders by the sufficient injection amount deviation correction learning, thereby preventing misfire of the injector.
Method and device for learning opening time of injector for vehicle engine
A method for learning an opening time of an injector for an engine of a vehicle may include applying, by a controller, an injection start command to the injector supplying fuel to the engine; determining, by the controller, a fuel pressure change amount in a fuel rail supplying the fuel to the injector after the injection start command is applied; and learning, by the controller, an opening delay time of the injector based on the determined fuel pressure change amount.
Method of two-step VVL operation learning control and electric two-step VVL system thereof
A method of two-step variable valve lift (VVL) operation learning control for a vehicle may include: applying, by a lift controller, a VVL control to an electric two-step VVL system; determining, by the lift controller, whether the vehicle is running in an electric vehicle (EV) mode; and when the vehicle is running in the EV mode, performing, by the lift controller, a learning time securing control of allowing a VVL operation learning to be performed by engine operating for an operation avoidance area and an operation avoidance time which are applied to a secondary lift of an exhaust valve.
Controller and control method for internal combustion engine
A controller includes a memory device and an execution device that executes first and second operation processes, a switching process, and a recording process. The first operation process operates an operated unit by an operated amount, which is calculated on the basis of a state variable, using an adapted data set. The second operation process operates the operated unit by an operated amount that is defined by a relationship defining data set and the state variable. The switching process switches a process that operates the operated unit between the first operation process and the second operation process. The recording process obtains a value of the state variable used in calculation of the operated amount using the first operation process during an operation of the operated unit using the second operation process. The recording process also records time-series data of the obtained value of the state variable in the memory device.
