DEVICE FOR ENGINE MONITORING
A device for monitoring the function of an engine is powered by heat from the engine or other sources other than a conventional, external direct electrical power supply, which may create sparks and/or be unavailable. The device monitors one or more of heat, vibration, or other parameters and can detect certain problems with engine function. The device is particularly suited for remote engine monitoring, and can store and/or display data concerning monitored engine characteristics, and/or directly or indirectly send such data to a location removed from the engine.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE CONTROL DEVICE
Provided is an internal combustion engine control device capable of more appropriately correcting an output value of a flow rate sensor that measures a flow rate of air flowing through an intake flow path of an internal combustion engine, and further reducing an error between a corrected air flow rate and an actual air flow rate as compared to a conventional device. For this purpose, the internal combustion engine control device of the present invention includes an arithmetic device 100 including a fundamental frequency derivation unit 104 that derives a fundamental frequency, a flow rate amplitude calculation unit 107 that extracts a radio frequency of a plurality of frequencies equal to or higher than the fundamental frequency from a pulsation waveform based on the output value of the flow rate sensor as a flow rate radio frequency and calculates an amplitude of the flow rate radio frequency for each frequency, a correction amount derivation unit 108 that derives a correction amount based on the amplitude of the flow rate radio frequency for each frequency, and a flow rate calculation unit 109 that calculates a flow rate of air by using the output value of the flow rate sensor and the correction amount.
Detecting Cylinder-Specific Combustion Profile Parameter Values For An Internal Combustion Engine
A method for detecting a cylinder-specific combustion profile parameter value for an internal combustion engine is described. The method includes the following: (a) detecting a toothed encoder signal, (b) determining a cylinder-specific tooth time interval on the basis of the toothed encoder signal, (c) determining a cylinder-specific phase value on the basis of a Fourier transformation of a part of the toothed encoder signal corresponding to the cylinder-specific tooth time interval, (d) determining the combustion profile parameter value on the basis of the cylinder-specific phase value and a stored transfer function which represents a relationship between the combustion profile parameter and the phase value.
Method and system for correcting fuel injection amount
A method and system for correcting a fuel injection amount that injects fuel may include applying a current value for injecting a target fuel amount and injecting fuel under a driving condition in which fuel injection is blocked; determining a frequency analysis value for a pressure signal of the fuel pressure rail when the fuel is injected; determining a fuel amount difference corresponding to a difference value between the frequency analysis value and a reference frequency analysis value stored in a data storage in advance; and correcting a current value of the injector which is applied to inject the target fuel amount to remove the fuel amount difference.
MECHANICAL COMBUSTION ABNORMALITY DIAGNOSIS DETERMINATION METHOD AND COMBUSTION ABNORMALITY DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM USING ENGINE NOISE
A mechanical diagnosis method for combustion abnormality using engine noise includes: calculating an Energy K and a Loudness standard deviation index (N.sub.STD) with Kurtosis analysis by a diagnosis controller 30 from noise data measured together with a signal component by rotation excitation of an engine 10; calculating a plurality of order frequency peak order component values by a Modulation Frequency Transform; and distinguishing a cylinder where abnormal combustion occurs from a cylinder where normal combustion occurs by applying a predetermined threshold to these calculated values, thereby classifying, by Modulation Frequency analysis, problem samples of the rotation excitation and combustion excitation influence of the engine in which the abnormality state determination of the engine has been difficult only with energy distribution while overcoming the limitation of Kurtosis analysis.
Engine Monitoring Apparatus
A method of monitoring the usage of an internal combustion engine comprises performing an engine monitoring routine using a local monitoring device attached to an internal combustion engine. The engine monitoring routine includes generating data representative of a plurality of vibrations of an internal combustion engine using a vibration sensor of the local monitoring device, processing the generated data to determine a first value representative of a firing frequency of the internal combustion engine, generating an aggregated summary based on the first value and transmitting the aggregated summary and identification data for the local monitoring device to a remote application. The remote application processes the transmitted aggregated summary based on the identification data to determine engine speed usage data.
Abnormality determination apparatus for internal combustion engine
An abnormality determination apparatus for an internal combustion engine in which an intake passage upstream of a supercharger and a crankcase are connected by a breather line includes: an intake flow rate detection unit that detects an intake flow rate in the intake passage; and an abnormality determination unit that determines abnormality of the breather line. The abnormality determination unit accumulates a time for which a rotation second-order component of a fluctuation waveform of the intake flow rate is equal to or more than a threshold over a predetermined period of time and determines the abnormality of the breather line when the accumulated value is less than a predetermined accumulation threshold.
Systems and methods for diagnosing an engine
Methods and systems are provided for an engine. A condition of the engine may be diagnosed based on information provided by signals from a generator operationally connected to the engine and/or other signals associated with the engine. Different types of degradation may be distinguished based on discerning characteristics within the information. Thus, a degraded engine component may be identified in a manner that reduces service induced delay.
METHOD FOR OPERATING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, ENGINE CONTROL UNIT AND INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A method for operating an internal combustion engine, including aligning an injection behavior of the number of injectors. Aligning the injection behavior includes switching off one injector of the number of injectors, detecting a signal of the internal combustion engine that is to be assigned to the switched off injector, determining an alignment characteristic from the signal and assigning the alignment characteristic to the switched off injector as an alignment characteristic assigned to the injector, and switching on the previously switched off injector. Aligning the injection behavior further includes performing the aforementioned steps sequentially for the other injectors of the number of injectors and correcting a control of an injector that is to be corrected using the measured value assigned to the injector that is to be corrected.
Method for determining the current compression ratio of an internal combustion engine during operation
In the method according to example embodiments, dynamic pressure oscillations in the inlet tract of the respective internal combustion engine are measured during normal operation, and from these a corresponding pressure oscillation signal is generated. A crankshaft phase angle signal is acquired at the same time. The pressure oscillation signal is used to determine an actual value of at least one characteristic of at least one selected signal frequency of the measured pressure oscillations in relation to the crankshaft phase angle signal, and the current compression ratio is determined on the basis of the determined actual value and using reference values of the corresponding characteristic of the respective same signal frequency for different compression ratios.
