A method is provided to crimp a sheet having, before crimping, a thickness, a moisture, a composition, and a width, the method including: obtaining one pre-crimping sheet characteristic among the thickness of the sheet, the moisture of the sheet, the composition of the sheet, and the width of the sheet; crimping the sheet to form a plurality of corrugations on the sheet, the crimping including providing a pair of crimping rollers defining a nip therebetween, the nip having a nip size, and inserting the sheet in the nip; evaluating a post-crimping characteristic of the sheet after crimping; and varying the nip size on the basis of the obtained one of the pre-crimping sheet characteristic, and on the basis of the evaluated post-crimping sheet characteristic. An apparatus to crimp a sheet is also provided.

METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF RECONSTITUTED VEGETABLE SUBSTANCES AND/OR RECONSTITUTED ALKALOID SUBSTANCES AND PLANT IMPLEMENTING SUCH METHOD
A method for production of reconstituted vegetable and/or reconstituted alkaloid substances, including the steps of: producing powdered material with predetermined particle size and including powders of vegetable and/or alkaloid substances mixed with vegetable fibres and/or powdered additives, high viscosity and water-based humectant gel; mixing powdered material with humectant gel obtaining a pasty compound based on the vegetable and/or alkaloid substances, substantially solid and with low water content; extruding the pasty compound based on the vegetable and/or alkaloid substances producing an extruded dough section based on the vegetable and/or alkaloid substances, substantially solid and with low water content; cutting the extruded section producing solid and compact small blocks/slabs of dough; rolling the various dough blocks/slabs forming a single dough sheet of predetermined thickness, substantially solid and strip-like; and lastly drying the dough sheet to obtain a sheet of reconstituted vegetable and/or reconstituted alkaloid substances, solid and compact and of predetermined thickness.
METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF RECONSTITUTED VEGETABLE SUBSTANCES AND/OR RECONSTITUTED ALKALOID SUBSTANCES AND PLANT IMPLEMENTING SUCH METHOD
A method for production of reconstituted vegetable and/or reconstituted alkaloid substances, including the steps of: producing powdered material with predetermined particle size and including powders of vegetable and/or alkaloid substances mixed with vegetable fibres and/or powdered additives, high viscosity and water-based humectant gel; mixing powdered material with humectant gel obtaining a pasty compound based on the vegetable and/or alkaloid substances, substantially solid and with low water content; extruding the pasty compound based on the vegetable and/or alkaloid substances producing an extruded dough section based on the vegetable and/or alkaloid substances, substantially solid and with low water content; cutting the extruded section producing solid and compact small blocks/slabs of dough; rolling the various dough blocks/slabs forming a single dough sheet of predetermined thickness, substantially solid and strip-like; and lastly drying the dough sheet to obtain a sheet of reconstituted vegetable and/or reconstituted alkaloid substances, solid and compact and of predetermined thickness.
Protein-enriched tobacco composition
The present disclosure provides protein-enriched, tobacco-containing products, suitable for use as oral formulations. Products of the present disclosure typically include at least one tobacco material (e.g., a particulate tobacco material or a tobacco-derived extract), at least one protein-enriched material (e.g., a tobacco-derived protein-enriched material), and at least one sugar alcohol.

The method includes supplying a powdered material having a predefined particle size of less than 350 μm, wherein the powdered material comprises tobacco powder, supplying a highly viscous, water-based binder gel having a viscosity of at least 1000 cP, a water content of at least 50%, and at least one binder; and mixing the powdered material with the binder gel to form the tobacco paste that is substantially solid, wherein the tobacco paste has a water content or moisture content of at most 50%.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing inductively heatable aerosol-forming rods
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing inductively heatable aerosol-forming rods (100). The method comprises the steps of supplying a continuous susceptor profile (20) to a continuous rod-forming process such as to enter and pass the rod-forming process along a center axis (80) of the rod-forming process, supplying a continuous substrate web (30) comprising an aerosol-forming substrate to the continuous rod-forming process such as to enter the rod-forming process laterally to the susceptor profile and passing the substrate web and the susceptor profile through the rod-forming process, thereby gathering the substrate web into a rod shape around the susceptor profile substantially coaxially to the center axis. The invention further relates to an apparatus (1) for manufacturing inductively heatable aerosol-forming rods (100). The apparatus comprises a rod-forming device (10) configured for gathering a continuous substrate web (30) comprising an aerosol-forming substrate into a rod shape around a continuous susceptor profile (20) coaxially to a center axis (80) of the rod-forming device as the substrate web and the susceptor profile pass through the rod-forming device. The apparatus further comprises a susceptor supply (21) configured for supplying the susceptor profile to the rod-forming device such as to enter and pass the rod-forming device along the center axis of the rod-forming device. The apparatus also comprises a substrate supply (35) configured for supplying the substrate web to the rod-forming device such as to enter the rod-forming device laterally to the susceptor profile.

The apparatus also comprises a substrate supply (35) configured for supplying the substrate web to the rod-forming device such as to enter the rod-forming device laterally to the susceptor profile.
