Helical Trochoidal Rotary Machines
Rotary positive displacement machines with trochoidal geometry that comprise a helical rotor that undergoes planetary motion within a helical stator are described. The rotor can have a hypotrochoidal cross-section, with the corresponding stator cavity profile being the outer envelope of the rotor as it undergoes planetary motion, or the stator cavity can have an epitrochoidal cross-section with the corresponding rotor profile being the inner envelope of the trochoid as it undergoes planetary motion. In some multi-stage embodiments, the rotor-stator geometry remains substantially constant along the axis of the rotary machine. In other multi-stage embodiments, the rotor-stator geometry varies along the axis of the rotary machine.
Helical Trochoidal Rotary Machines With Offset
Rotary positive displacement machines based on trochoidal geometry, that comprise a helical rotor that undergoes planetary motion within a helical stator are described. The rotor can have a hypotrochoidal cross-section, with the corresponding stator cavity profile being the outer envelope of the rotor as it undergoes planetary motion, or the stator cavity can have an epitrochoidal cross-section with the corresponding rotor profile being the inner envelope of the trochoid as it undergoes planetary motion. In some embodiments, the geometry is offset in a manner that provides structural and/or operational advantages in the rotary machine.
Fixed-Eccentricity Helical Trochoidal Rotary Machines
Rotary positive displacement machines based on trochoidal geometry that includes a helical rotor that undergoes planetary motion relative to a helical stator are described. The rotor can have a hypotrochoidal-based cross-sectional shape, with the corresponding stator cavity cross-sectional shape being the outer envelope of the rotor cross-sectional shape as it undergoes planetary motion, or the stator cavity can have an epitrochoidal-based cross-sectional shape with the corresponding rotor cross-sectional shape being the inner envelope of the stator cross-sectional shape as it undergoes planetary motion. Such machines can be configured so that the stator axis is spaced from the rotor axis, the rotor is configured to spin about its axis and the stator is configured to spin about its axis, and/or the rotor and the stator are held at a fixed eccentricity so that the rotor undergoes planetary motion relative to the stator, but does not orbit.
SEALED DRIVE FOR CONNECTING PROGRESSIVE CAVITY PUMP ROTORS TO UNIVERSAL JOINTS
A progressive cavity pump includes a sealed drive between the rotor and universal joint. The universal joint includes a socket configured to receive a drive shaft of the rotor. A cover, such as a locking nut, is disposed over the connection between the rotor and universal joint. Seals are retained in place by the locking nut to prevent abrasive materials from entering into the interface between the rotor and the universal joint.
Liquid Polymer or Chemical Activation System Using a Submersible Actuator
A liquid polymer or chemical activation system, having a chamber; a top cover plate, a middle cover plate and a bottom cover plate; wherein such configuration creates a hollow space inside the chamber that is flanked by the top cover plate and the bottom cover plate; a hybrid pump blending reactor having a progressive cavity pump and one or more inlets for receiving first and second substances; an upper multistage mixing cup configured to receive the first and second substances from the hybrid pump blending reactor; at least one high shear mixer for mixing the first and second substances; at least one submersible actuator for actuating the high shear mixer; an intermediate blending section for receiving the mix of first and second substances from the upper multistage mixing cup; a lower multistage aging cup for further mixing of the first and second substances; and at least one outlet on the bottom cover plate for releasing the mix of first and second substances.
PUMP HOUSING
A pump housing (4) for an eccentric screw pump, comprising a housing casing (5) extending along a housing longitudinal axis (L), a first end-face opening (6), to which a shaft seal (7) for a connection shaft (8) can be connected, and a second end-face opening (10), to which a stator (I) can be connected, and comprising a tubular inlet nozzle (11), oriented transversely to the housing longitudinal axis (L), for feeding a medium that is to be conveyed, which inlet nozzle is connected to the housing casing (5) tangentially, offset in relation to the housing longitudinal axis (L). The geometry of the inlet nozzle (11) is designed in such a way that, as the medium flows into the housing interior through the inlet nozzle (II), a flow (S) is generated which has a radial direction component (RI) directed away outwardly from the housing longitudinal axis (L) and/or an axial direction component (R2) directed towards the first end-face opening (6).

Downhole force generating tool
The disclosure of this application is directed to a downhole tool comprising a central element/member and a sleeve that is rotatably and orbitally disposed around the central element/member. The sleeve rotates and orbits around the central element/member responsive to fluid flowing through the downhole too. The disclosure is also related to a method of advancing the downhole tool in a well by flowing fluid through the tool.
Check valve with internal mass for progressive cavity pumps
The present invention corresponds to a check valve with an inertial mass that is installed in the bottom of the production tubing and above the progressive cavity pump (PCP) of an oil well, which prevents that the hydrostatic column that is inside of the production tubing go down in the moment where the artificial lift of the column stops for the detention of the PCP pump. If we prevent that this phenomenon to happen, the PCP pump will not rotate in the opposite direction of its normal operation and it will not be clogged by any particulate material that is contained in it.
