Compressor
A compressor includes an impeller configured so as to compress gas, an electric motor, a rotary shaft configured so as to join the impeller and the electric motor to each other, a housing configured so as to house the rotary shaft and the electric motor, a mechanical seal that includes a rotation-side seal member provided in the rotary shaft, and a stationary-side seal member fixed to the housing so as to be in contact with the rotation-side seal member on a side of the impeller, and a member that defines a lubricant reservoir provided under the mechanical seal in a gravity direction and disposed so as to store lubricant, the member being disposed so that the lubricant reservoir is arranged such that at least a part of the rotation-side seal member on an outer circumference side passes through when rotation-side seal member rotating due to rotation of the rotary shaft.
Seal gas supply control method, seal gas supply control apparatus, and rotary machine
A seal gas supply control method according to the present invention comprises a step for detecting a pressure difference between an internal pressure of a rotary machine and a supply pressure of a seal gas with respect to a dry gas seal portion, a step for adjusting an opening degree of a seal gas supply valve on the basis of the detected pressure difference between the internal pressure and the supply pressure, and a step for detecting a vent pressure for discharging the seal gas evacuated from the dry gas seal portion to the outside. The seal gas supply control method fully opens the seal gas supply valve when the detected vent pressure satisfies a predetermined condition.
ROTARY MACHINE
A rotary machine includes a rotating shaft which is rotatably provided around an axis, a casing which covers the rotating shaft from an outside in a radial direction and in which a gas flow path extending in a circumferential direction is formed, a drain pipe which is connected to a lower portion in a vertical direction of the casing and communicates with the gas flow path, an adjusting valve which is provided in the drain pipe and adjusts a flow state of a fluid in the drain pipe, and a gas flow pipe which is connected to the drain pipe at a position closer to a connection portion between the casing and the drain pipe than the adjusting valve and through which the seal gas flows.
TURBINE HOUSING FOR A TWO WHEEL AIR CYCLE MACHINE
A turbine housing for a two-wheel air cycle machine includes a first side of the turbine housing, a second side of the turbine housing, a central axis, an outer housing portion, an inner housing portion, a plurality of struts between the inner housing portion and the outer housing portion and a plurality of cooling slots between the plurality of supports. The outer housing portion includes an inner surface, an outer surface, a cooling inlet extending from the outer surface of the outer housing portion and a cooling outlet opposite the cooling inlet and extending from the outer surface of the outer housing portion. The inner housing portion includes a thrust bearing support surface substantially parallel to the second side of the turbine housing and a journal bearing bore extending between the first side of the turbine housing and the thrust bearing support surface.
Fluid-cooled seal arrangement for a gas turbine engine
A component for a gas turbine engine includes a compartment housing that redirects oil from at least one passage in a rotational component onto a backside of a seal land.
Gas recovery system for compressor, compressor system, and refrigeration cycle system
A gas recovery system for a compressor, said gas recovery system being equipped with: a distillation column that brings a supply gas in a liquid state into contact with a mixed gas, thereby cooling and liquefying a process gas in the mixed gas, and heating and gasifying the liquid supply gas; a process gas recovery line that is connected to the lower part of the distillation column and recovers the liquid process gas discharged from the distillation column; and a supply gas recovery line that is connected to the upper part of the distillation column and recovers the gaseous supply gas discharged from the distillation column.
POROUS CARBON CONTAINMENT OR SEPARATION SEAL
A seal includes a mating ring that rotates relative to a porous carbon primary ring at a seal interface. A buffer gas is provided into the seal and passes from the back of the primary ring to the seal interface. The seal can be used as a separation seal or in combination with another seal.
REDUCED EMISSION GAS SEAL
A dry gas mechanical seal system configured to inhibit the emission of process gas. The mechanical seal system having tandem first and second stage seals, and a single separation gas supply subsystem configured to direct a supply of separation gas from an inlet through interfacing portions of the first stage seal into a process cavity and from the inlet through the interfacing portions of the second stage seal and out through an outlet to the atmosphere, thereby inhibiting the emission of process gas between a compressor housing and a rotating compressor shaft.
Compressor system equipped for fugitive gas handling and fugitive gas system operating method
A compressor system includes a gas compressor with dry gas seals about a driveshaft. The compressor system also includes a fugitive gas system having a gas conduit in fluid communication with a collection cavity in a collector coupled to the gas compressor to receive fugitive gas leaked through a pressurized gas leakage path. The fugitive gas system may be structured for flaring the gas, and includes a pressure control system with an accumulator tank, and a vent line for venting gas pressure and having a backpressure regulator therein. Fugitive combustible gas is conveyed through a flow restriction orifice downstream of the compressor.
Gas turbine engine including seal plate providing increased cooling adjacent contact area
A gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a compressor section, a combustor section, a turbine section, and at least one rotatable shaft. The engine further includes a seal assembly including a seal plate mounted for rotation with the rotatable shaft and a face seal in contact with the seal plate at a contact area. The seal plate includes a cooling passageway having a circumferentially-extending section radially aligned with the contact area.
